Well, I was messing around with the car this evening and thought, I going to make the head lights all clear of orange. I have to post more picks tomorrow but this is what I have for now.
I first removed the head light two screw on top and don't forget the one behind the asymble. (circled in red)

Then I used my portable hear I have in the garage to keep me warm when on the computer during the winter. It did a good job heating up the glue to be able to pry housing apart. When I had my Accent I put them in the oven to pull out the marker and boy the housing was hotter than hell.

After getting it pryed apart you can get to the bracket that holds the marker into place.

The bracket has two screws (philips) that will need to be unscrewed and then remove orange marker then replace bracket and screws and then I put it in front of the heater again to get glue hot and the pushed it all back together while holding it in front of heater. (I circled the two screws locations in red.)

What to do with the markers instead of throwing them away:

Well, hope you like and tomorrow I will get some outside photos and some night photos with different light bulbs.

Using a heater like that sounds like a much better method than the oven.... While it IS effective, the thought of tossing my headlights in the oven for a mod always gave me the creeps....

i went a more lazy route to do the same thing. i didn't want to open the whole housing so after i took out the healight assembly i stuck a screw driver in the hole and hammered away till it popped out. that way i only had to pry open the headlight alittle pull out the lense and didn't have to take the whole thing apart.
simple but can get messy if you go crazy w/ the hammering
EDIT: i forgot i used a hairdryer and sat there for a few minutes untill the black glue became soft
so if you don't have a heater big enough and are afraid of putting the headlight assembly in the oven a hair dryer will do the trick

Great alternative to the oven. Nice job man, and by the way, add some tassles to the left over orange plastic and then you can be like Madonna... :)

looks good, awesome alternative than the oven - if you look at my pictures i have the cleared head lights but i used the oven and boy i defintly agree that it really got hot trying to pry it apart and after the fact you could smell plastic in the oven like it burned ew
cant wait to see the pictures, now you should buy the 1156 turn signal bulb in chrome from supeillumination.com it looks silver but it flashes a really deep amber color i will be going to inspection saturday for the first time since this mod

J-son, What is the diameter of those lenses, what if you go to to an auto parts store that sells lights or lenses for vehicles and stuff and get some that have a clear lens the same diameter as the ones that come off and fabricate them (glue ) the clear lenses on, do you think it would work/ that way it can looked finished. What do you think.

I eagerly await picts of the illuminated after shots. obviously we'll have to move to amber bulbs or something like those silvervision bulbs.
I hope they dont look :gay: with orange bulbs.

Scottie's right, the silver-look amber bulbs from autolumination.com work really well in situations like this - I've got 'em in the rear of my '04 hatch and it looks great with nothing but silver and red back there. If I did this mod (when I work up the cajones to bake my lights, I mean) I'll definitely use 'em up front.

This may now be my favorite mod. I wanted to do this before but, as everyone else noted, the oven was a bit of a scare to use. With the silver looking bulbs, are those the ones that look chrome from the front but actually emit an amber light? I was just a bit lost when that was thrown in the mix. This site is so great. Thanks again for the idea J-son. - Subvibe

Alright...this is what I have. I took them at dusk with just a hint of light. Hope you like!
The bulb are all silverstar, high, low and turn. I like how the turnsignals look. And there is one good pic of what the bulb looks like blinking. Hope this looks good.

Looks great!! Good work
although IMO I would have sprayed the black plastic silver while I had it open. That's just me though. Again, good work!

I was thinking of doing that but was not sure if I would like it or not. Thanks for the compliment.
