ok, i found a new and sweet program to make movies (movie maker from windows). i made one of my ride. the problem is i cant figure out how to make it a link to click on, or where to upload this movie, or whatever i have to do to get it on the web so i can post it up. its 24 minutes long. putfile.com is what i normally use, but their max size is 25mb. my video is 35.4mb. i also tried google video upload and it said i had to have it in mpeg, and some other formats.
how do i format my video so google video will allow it to be uploaded. i have no idea. ive been trying fore a few hours now. its a real sweet video i made up. a bit long, but well worth checking out once i figure this out.
please help a computer semi-illiterate guy out.

thanks for the help.

i cant even email it cause its too big of a file. i have no idea????

use this program to convert it to an MPEG: http://www.virtualdub.org/
i'm assuming its in WMV format, which, if im not mistaken, has to be converted to AVI first and then reconverted to MPEG

as far as hosting goes, it will be really hard to find someone to host 35mb of 1 file. You may want to talk to FordFasterr to see if he'll lend you some space on nitrousworld

as far as sending it to someone, use an instant messenger program like AIM. I see you have Yahoo.. you could use that

There is an option to make the size the movie plays smaller. Try to save it with the smaller size. Atleast for hosting purposes.

I can host it for you. Btw, moviemaker for windows sucks compared to just about any other movie editing program. But it does work at least. Email me the video clip, skeetre@mudz.org and I'll throw it online for you. (might compress it first too and see how it looks)

ok, its still too big to send to you. samantec (virus scan) wont allow a file that large.

google video uploads will host ANY size video.

ill try that virtualdub when i get home.

you guys are going to love it. 2.5 hrs to splice and get a great sweet video pf the xd.
ah, i cant wait. :D

from what i read on the movie maker site, it makes the movies in ntsc format. now to upload on to hosting sites it must be formatted into mpeg, gif type formats. i need to figure out how to do that. if i have time when i get home form work today, ill play around with it. i will also do some searching:D on google as how to do this. i found a few programs on google about re-formatting to mpeg type thingsm but the cost of the program is about 30.00. i really dont want to spend $$ for programs like this. so i might try and find them on lime wire and rip them.
skeetre, what do i need to do with the file/movie i have? how do i send it to you? do i need to compress it in a zip file? also, i may be able to turn OFF my outgoing e-mail virus scan, then it may let me email to you that way. but again im not sure.

thanks for the help.

You might wanna look into recompressing the video to divx or xvid format to reduce the size to around 1/4 - 1/2 of its original avi file size. It seems you can not upload due to a file size limitation set on the server, once you get it down to 25 MB or less then it should upload with no problems.

i think that we should have a video upload option on the site (but of course not for anything over 2-3 mins... to save on server space) i too have a video of scott's car with his new painted rims, and i need to find out how up upload/link

I dont think thats a good idea. To have that. you would need more server space = more money. Do we really have enough videos to warrant a video upload section? No IMO.

Might take a min to upload, after it does, just right click on the file and copy link location, paste it into a post.

Please no one go uploading any dvd size files or anything though ;)

ok guys, the video is up. i also uploaded it to streetfire.com as well. it loads quicker on streetfire. i use streetfire, putfile, googlevideo, and mudz(thx skeetre).

and videos take up a HUGE ammount of space. i think it would slow down the site alot. but its a great idea none the less
