Yeah, I actually have wanted something like this for my 05 for awhile... I'm too lazy to take that gay looking top bulb out, so a cover would be nice.

You probably can use some vinyl to do it, but i'm not sure if you are gonna be able to match your car color exactly.

the problem with this is the tails sit flush with the body.
I could make a single layer FG cover to fit, it would only be about 1/8" thick or less.
