please take a few moments to READ the rules of this and other forums before you start to blantantly post in threads. NUMEROUS times new people try and help and they have NO idea what the **** their talking about. please do not post something UNLESS your pretty sure your correct on the statement your going to type in and try and "help" someone. this is the **** that bugs the piss out of me and many others on forums. this is why i dont really come on car forums that much like i used to.
listen, im a certified auto mechanic at a porsche/audi/land rover dealership. i am aslo a master auto detailer and a certified chef. i know what the **** im talking about when it comes to cars. i also know my car better than the hyundai techs at my 4 local dealerships. I diagnose the problems with my car, then bring it to them dumb asses to fix. when I, or someone else that has knowledge about our cars posts something, DO NOT CONTRADICT them in what they say. 99.9987466% of the time they are correct in what they have posted.
so bottom line, you better be damned sure you know what your talking about before you try and tell me something about my car, or anyone else on this site. we are VERY knowledgeable about our cars, and know what is what.
thanks
dave.

not to cause an argument 2loud, but contradicting someone on a forum isn't a crime... and while there are a lot of n00bs who think they know their sh*t but really don't, not everthing that the "pros" say has to be taken as gospel. people correct me on stuff all the time... (even though they're wrong, lol). :) you have to realize that and be able to deal with it. you may know your sh*t about some things, but also realize that there are other people on the board who may know something that you don't (and i won't bother listing my credentials here, it won't change how people take my advice). but i don't get all huffy and puffy when people don't listen to my advice. and besides, what's wrong with people giving different opinions and letting people sort through them? that's what boards are all about.

evan..your very welcome.
levia.. ill try and up0date the title and put WW in it. i kinda figured that since it is in the flame thread it may just been a "given". ill try after this post. i tried to change the title and put a WW in there, but it wont let me. sorry :)
yamaha, lol :D :D its cool if "you" and only "you" post stupid **** on here..oppps i mean evan..not yamaha. lmao
korai.. can i get a YES SIR!!!! thanks man.
i think its time for me to take a long break from exd. i have already taken a long break from e-club for reasons i wont get into. i put up with stupid *** people at work that dont know ****. i dont need someone who has 11 posts and is new to the elantra vehicles telling me what should be or should not be on my car.
later all. time to lurk in the shadows and pounce on the unsuspecting newbs that post DUMB *** responces. i will now be known as the newbie ninja
kicking dumb newbie *** posters whenever i can. :kick:
if by chance you have my cell number and need some help with something, gladly give me a call.

southpaw, its not even about that. its about a newbies post on 05xd's nitrous thread, about one of my posts on there. neons are neons, and hyundais are hyundais.they are totally different. but this has happened on MANY occasions to alot of people on here. super calmed everyone down and made a sticky about new poeple and posting. obviously that post from super has gone unread by many newbies.
im not saying i know everything, but i do know my ****. i ask questions if i dont know, i just dont throw some bull**** post to make it seem like i know wtf im talking about.

I guess I qualify as a newbie. So maybe this is a newbie question..?
What I do want to know is this... How is anyone supposed to know that a certain member is an "expert"..?
I checked out 2loud2k2xd's public profile and I don't see a list of qualifications. So how is anyone supposed to know who are the experts and who are not.. bear in mind that even newbies to a site may already have some experience of their own... although clearly not all do ;-)

To go along with that, with all the BS that is on the internet, being a "certified auto mechanic at a porsche/audi/land rover dealership" could mean you do oil changes and rotate tires, then masterfully wash the car. Welcome to the internet. People don't give a **** what you say you know, unless you prove it to them ahead of time.

Just as a note to any new people (you'll notice that I didn't use nOOb ;) ) out there reading this thread.
Don't take this personal or let it stop you from posting ANY question you may have, be it about your car or anything else. This forum is here for everybody's enjoyment and not just those who think they have the RIGHT to slam someone for not knowing something. While it may seem trivial to them, I'm sure there is lots of stuff he/she/we/I doesn't know.
There are dicks out there wherever you go. kick'em in the balls from the beginning then nothing is a surprise for them
I knew I could use that somewhere eh Robert? lol

Honestly, suck it up everyone who is sick of the newbs. Not only were we all newbs at one time, but you do not realize that in an effort to clean the place up, you are getting rid of the people who you want to have around. As you may notice, some of the members who have been here for a while are selling up and buying different cars, it's their time to move on...so who's site is this then??
I'll give you one hint. The new people who are just fresh into their new cars which happen to be Elantras. You drive them away, and Super is going to be super pissed because you're not only leaving the site, but making it hard to recruit new people! They may ask retarted questions, and they may not be pioneers like some of you were, and you know what...some of them may even think that they know better than you (until they find out otherwise, which is bound to happen because it's a forum so until someone challenges someone elses authority, it's hard to find out where people stand professionally). They are still Elantraxd.com members, whether they have 1 post or 5660. Take your heads out of your anuses (can you pluralize that?) and stop treating people like the feces that you are seeing because it covers your eyes.

i would say i second that. but someone already did.
I do however understand some of the frustrations. Some people just dont listen. I guess what 2loud2k2xd wrote was when he was really angry. and stuff didnt come out right (angry words??? :D ). but those who can read between the lines know what his sentiments was, there are a number of post i made that is very noobish but i remember 2loud2k2xd responded to those nicely. so in general 2loud2k2xd is very respectable man.
Although, we must keep in mind (and someone has mentioned it before) that this place is for everyone who has elantra, stupid or smart. if they want to make their mistakes let them.

Excuse me... I may be a "noob" on this site BUT I bring with me over 25 years of driving and car maintenance experience. How about showing some respect for others... you might just learn something. Instead, some of you just seem determined to drive new folks away while patting yourselves/each-other on your backs for being so clever
There are many genuine folks here who are willing to share their knowledge and experience without need to resort to bad language or put-downs. Maybe we need a category to show which are those so us "noobs" can ignore the others.

^^^^ This is so true. BUt some people think, that now since they have been here awhile and learned a thing or two. It is ok to rip into the noobies.
I curious for the people out there that jump all over the noobies, would you treat your child or mother like that if they did not know any better?
Those of us that have been here for sometime should set the example for the rest. Damm it is lik we hang noobies around here if they mess up. Is that what we want EXD to become? Or rather a fun friendly place were we all can come together for the love of our cars.

I love the n00bs, and make a special effort to make them feel welcome, because if we didn't, the site would die a long, slow and painful death.
However I don't like n00b threads which contain the spelling of a 10-year-old, because it makes reading too much of a chore. International-speaking members excluded.
Please forgive me.

I never used any bad language against a noob. I am the type of person that tells others who do that (evan, cough, cough) to chill down.
What I am talking about is posts that you should know that you can find. For instance, let's say i am a noob. I want to know how many quarts of oil the engine takes. I search but don't find anything. Although, LOGICALLY, there should be that info somewhere but I am unable to find it. So, instead of posting this in, say, the maintenance section or the N/A section, I post it in the noob section because i just KNOW that somebody (evan, cough, cough) is going to bring me down and tell me to search.
The noob section is just that, a noob section. Anything goes there and nobody should tell you to search because it's a section dedicated for that.
As for people with 25+ years of knowledge like you, fgummet, trust me, even with your first post ever, we would've seen that you know what you are saying and you know what you are talking about. I call "noobs" the ones that really have no clue what they are talking about and all they do is clutter the forum.
For instance. There was once a member that just LOVED to open new threads about a picture or a product that had been around for a while, and everytime, we used to tell him it's a repost. Eventually, someone (do i even have to say who? ) got pissed at him big time and after a few nasty posts, the noob understood the principle of not posting about things that have been discussed about before.
Look. There are newcomer threads everywhere, even in the annoucement section on top of every forum page. If one is too ignorant (lack of a better word) to read that and follow the rules, then they DO deserve to be treated in a not-so-friendly way.
Even though I get annoyed at people like that, I never insult them though, never treat them badly. Never have, never will. I guess some of us just don't have the patience/tact to ignore some posts and get on with their lives.
Although, if 2loud2k2xd is going to handle the noobs in a nice way, I respect that. Though, if the said noob continues his actions after a warning issued by a member about searching and such, well, I also respect the fact that some might get angry.

^^^ that's cool KeWLKaT... I was not meaning to attack anyone personally and I appreciate all the points you raise here. I also agree that there are *some* folks (from noobs to seniors) who could improve their on-line etiquette. I find the majority of folks here at EXD respectful, helpful and showing a great sense of humour.. otherwise I wouldn't keep coming back. There's just a few who are starting to get under my skin even despite warnings from moderators and just because someone has some seniority based primarily on how long ago they found this forum and joined I don't think that it should allow them any slack.

This whole topic is bull**** and its making me sick, everyone grow up and get along with eachother and as for the noobs we were all there at one point. Everyone here must work with eachother we are a community, family and a team. So cut the **** with all this drama against the noobs. If someone ask a question help them the best you can dont bash them cuz to you the question may be stupid and makes no sense. But to them the question may not be stupid cuz they are noobs. Im far from a new member but I learn something new here everyday.
