he really should have primed the bare metal before bolting on but ...
Those look cool I been htinking of adapting some struts from another car to do the same thing... IMO a strut is a strut when all it has to do is hold up a slab of sheet metal. They usually go ~$30-$50 bucks locally or ebay for a new set

Or struts from a hatchback Hyundai such as Elantra or Accent. I think I'm gonna do me some junkyard pickin'....!

I asked about the hood struts at dreamka4u, but they haven't posted an answer yet.. if you go to the dreamka4u.com website and then go to the Q&A you'll see my thread and the answer if they post one.

I kinda like that grille with the chrome accents... I like the mod altogether, I would do it for the trunk too is I ever had to remove the bars in the trunk.

I tell ya, I think they're just rear hatchback spring dampers.

For the trunk, I would recommend looking at the VW trunk struts since they are chrome and might give a nicer look to the trunk.

Previous generation Sonata had trunk struts. Santa Fe has them on both the rear window and rear liftgate (they can open seperate). So there's quite a few options out there.

Agreed, it's nothing super special, although having Hyundai ones would be cool I guess.

There is no point in looking for part numbers when you can get a generic pair, probably from any auto parts store. They will be much cheaper, and sometimes much nicer.
