as some of you know i wrecked my car, i fixed it over my month long break from college..what i did
1.bought oem door skin for front drivers side 200something$
2.bought bondo for rear door 30 bucks or so?
3.bought plastic trim for front door 25$
4.bought ****ty chinese aftermarket front fender+ ****ty splash guard 150$
5.bought paint gun and oil water seperator 150$
6.base coat clear coat+primer and hardener and reducer and thinner and door skin adhesive and caulking 200+$
7. took off drivers side door+door panel+old door skin(one helluva *****)
8.fixed dents etc, and put on new door skin with special adhesive
9.bondoed and sanded rear door and front door
10. sanded all to be painted parts with 500 grit sandpaper
11. tacked it all of and taped
12. mixed primer+applied+let it dry in my 72 degree radiant heated garage over night
13. base coated it 5 times and waited 20 hours before clear coat
14. clear coat+ fitted it all back together
15. realized it fit like *** and that i cant do much about it, and that dust particles got trapped in the paint+the bondo spots showed up due to a thin basecoat
16.if i were to do it over again i would buy a whole new drivers side and rear door OEM and an oem fender for a better fit..oh well it looks better than it did after the wreck and i saved my self at least 2 or 3 grand in labor...no final pics yet

^ yep its an 01..the color match was hard as hell becasue the k0 color has 2 variations, so the company i bought it from had to mix the 2, and it came out alright....and no i dont do it for a living, i wish, ive painted 3 cars before and am still learning along the way,the company i buy from gives you all the directions you need, i have all the tools necessary, just not a dust free garage, as long as the prep work is done right, the painting is the easiest part...like i said the prep work is what its all about and its a *****! i will probably end up sanding the clear coat and putting another coat of base color and another clear coat to cover up the bondo spots...and my door doesnt fit 100% correctly so there is some small metal sopts from hitting, and i will have to drill out the screw holes for the fender to play around with it more and get it to flow with the rest of the car right....its definetly not show quality, but it aint bad for under 1,000 bucks, i might even repaint the whole car becasue there is some chips and scratches here and there on other parts of the car..that might be a spring break thing.....one quart of paint will probably do the whole car...i even contemplated painting it that chameleon crap

Wow, that's the kind of undertaking I'd be really scared to try. Good work.
