March 18th, 2006:
Test & Practice Annual Tech (must be an SCCA member to attend)

March 19th, 2006:
Event #1, Solo2

Location: Pennington Field in Bedford, TX

If you've never autocrossed before, it's a lot of fun and very low risk. And it's one of the easiest forms of auto racing to get into. Helmets will be available to use at the events. Classification information can be found in other threads here and on the SCCA website (www.scca.org). But if you're still not sure which class your car should be in, shoot me a PM with a list of your performance mods and I'll tell you.

And if you think you might want to go then watch this thread for updates. I'll let you know when the events are open for registration. I've never been to an 'Annual Tech' day, so I'm not sure what that day will be like. But the Event #1 on March 19th will be a day you won't want to miss. :)

I would want to go. I'd have to see if we're busy in March at work. If not, then I should be able to get the day off (small company)

Update: I found out that you need to be an SCCA member to attend the Annual Tech Inspection on the 18th. I just applied for membership. It's costing me $75.

But you can race on the 19th even if you're not a member.

There was some lousy weather on the 18th, was this event held or postponed?

I believe they still did the practice on the 18th but not the annual tech. I didn't go to it at all so I'm not sure.

But I did go on the 19th. The weather sucked, and I only got 3 runs and then they called it off due to lightning. But I'll try to post a video of my 3rd run soon. The good news is that my car felt perfectly balanced out there. :)
