Thanks to all of you guys and gals on this Forum. Prior to joining i was in somewhat of a rut. I wasnt pleased with many aspects of my car. There are still some things im not all together happy with ( Champagne ) but with your help i've begun to see some things that will make my car fun again. Im pretty excited about getting started and i've come up with a list of a few things that im now planning on doing to the car. This is as follows;

1) 17x7 rims- Not sure what kind yet but they are definitely happening
2) Rear OEM Spoiler- I allways wanted one so now im going to do it!!
3) Lowering springs- looking to drop it about an inch
4) Tiburon Rear Sway Bar- Just been reading that this is an excellent upgrade.
5) Refresh the headlights with a wetsanding and polishing

Let me know what you guys think of this list and as allways, any seggestions are welcome!!

The wet sanding will take a LONG *** time LOL. (I actually need to work on mine just a tiny bit more, Ima try 1500 grit sandpaper this time, followed by 2000 to make it ultra smooth.) But in the end, it is so worth it.

May I recommend:
Clear side markers
Front strut bar

You're welcome! :D
The list sounds really good.
The only other thing I'd recommend is tinting, I love my tint & it was the first mod I did (first week I got the car).
Throw up some pics when you can!

Glad to hear you're getting inspired. A suggestion: move that Tib swaybar to the top of the list. :D It's probably the least time-consuming thing there, and one of the least expensive... and the easiest to feel when you're just driving around.

It's amazing how just a few upgrades in key areas make an already nifty car so much better.

And now you're making me feel bad about the remark I made about the color. It really isn't a bad color, especially if you get some rims to eliminate the "mom's car" aspect.

I think your list is a good start, but I would do them in the order 5-4-3-1-2. Also, you may want to look into meshing the grill (http://www.elantraxd.com/DIY/mesh.php), another inexpensive mod that is both functional (protects your radiator and condensor) and improves the looks of the car. I have silver mesh made from galvanized gutter guard from a hardware store. If you get silver wheels, the silver mesh might help tie the color scheme of the car together. Or you can try to find some black mesh (which may also be available at your local home improvement store).

Here's what it looks like.

1) Rims - Many options
2) Rear OEM Spoiler- www.spoilerdepot.com, or check their Ebay sales to save a few $
3) Lowering springs- I suggest Eibach for your 1" drop
4) Tiburon Rear Sway Bar- Check over at www.newtiburon.com and see if anyone is selling theirs
5) Refresh the headlights with a wetsanding and polishing - you know what to do

Great stuff guys...

And the list grows

* 6) Tint
* 7) Mesh the grill-- Looks Cool
* 8) Front Strut brace
* 9) Clear Side Markers

Whew- this is going to get expensive..lol

Theres really no order to my order other than the Rims are defintiely #1.

What i may do is; get as much of the list as possible, stack it all in one corner of the shed and then when spring hits I will install it all and do a complete Before and After.

Oops...forgot to ask..Which yrs of the Tiburon can i use the Sway Bar from?

Whew- this is going to get expensive..lol

Oops...forgot to ask..Which yrs of the Tiburon can i use the Sway Bar from?The mesh will cost you about $5 including nylon tie straps. You can pay for it by skipping lunch once.

As far as the sway bar goes, look over in the suspension forum; it's been hashed and rehashed several times. If you still have questions, I suggest posting over on those threads.

And for vampyrate:

This is cheap and easy to do as well. I documented it here (http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11763).

And if you haven't done it yet, here's an excellent free, 30-second mod (http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12029).

that it is... and for the rear sway, its a direct bolt up for hte 01-current elantra from the 03 tiburon (make sure to get one from the v6 for they are 19.2mm and the 4cyl tibs have a 19mm bar)

and dont forget the TB bypass mod, another free mod, but a little longer than 30 seconds. the chime is even less than 30seconds if you know what you are looking for, i can now do it in 3 sec. w/o looking.

here is a link to the TB mod: http://www.elantraxd.com/DIY/tbb.php

(make sure to get one from the v6 for they are 19.2mm and the 4cyl tibs have a 19mm bar)I think 19 and/or 19.2 are the V6 GT, and the 4 cylinder models had 18.

Hard ride I think it's called. You can buy them new from the dealer for a little over $100 including bushings, or get them from junked cars or hyundaipartsonline, etc., for a little less. If you buy it at the dealer MAKE SURE you get the one with the green splotch about halfway down the bar. Korea identifies the 19s with a green splotch, 18s with a yellow splotch. The warehouse doesn't seem to care one way or the other; they just seem to pick one up, put the part number tag on it for the one you requested, and ship it. I have a pic I need to upload of the bar I bought (19 mm part number, 18 mm actual diameter, yellow splotch) and the two parts the dealership ordered to replace it when I discovered the error (one of the 18 mm part number, one of the 19 mm part number, BOTH measuring 19 mm with green splotches). So out of three parts delivered from the warehouse, only one was tagged with the correct part number.
