Hey, just finally came across this and a few other elantra sites. I have a 2000 elantra that i got new in 2000. I just recently settled on keeping the car rather than selling it. I hope to find info and suggestions on performance upgrades since i don't know much.

Well, this is DEFINITELY the right place for all that information. Everybody will be very helpful. Just remember to read the stickies and learn to use the search function before you post. ;)

Welcome dude!
See Yamaha, he has a J2 Elantra, and he can provide you all the nitty gritty details for modifying your car.

actually it seems almost easier to modify the older elantras than the new. lots of swaping options in terms of cams, heads, and ehauxt items. and suspension products are more available for the most part, so it seems, for the J2 chasis style.
and then you can always swap a beta2 cvvt from ebay for like 400$ into a J2... that would be nice.

Not to mention a lot of the original Tiburon parts will work on the J2.
