Hi guys,
If you look in the brochure for the new Elantra, (Brochure) (http://www.hyundaiusa.com/Request_A_Brochure/Elantra.asp) it mentions a "trip computer". What exactly is this? Distance to empty, instant miles per gallon, etc?
Thanks, Chuck

Instead of having just a regular analog odometer, it has a little screen that shows your total mileage, trip odometer, instant average mpg, and distance in miles to empty. Hope that helps.

The trip 'computer' is different on the GLS and GT models.
on the GLS, it's a simple trip reset odometer, with an A and a B for traking milage
on the GT it will show you Miles per Gallon, Miles till empty, etc., as well as trip odometers.
Hope that helps.

Oh sorry, I didn't know they were different. I guess I should have said in my GT.

The mpg in the GT is a running average unless you reset it.

My mpg reading on my 2003gt is always less than my actual miles per gallon. It's usually off by about 2mpg

On my '04 GT it's pretty close. It's also great to be able to see how many miles I have left untill I run out on long road trips. My GT is 1 week and a 2 days old and I have over 1800 miles on it.

your mpg on the gt shows you average mpg based on how many miles has been driven since the last reset so if its been a long time you wont see much fluxuation in the mileage.

if you hold the button in it will reset, just like the trip odo.
I like the miles to empty feature.
