Yes it will void your warranty, but like the guy above me posted, the dealership has to prove that the modification directly caused the malfunction. My dealership wouldnt fix my tranny because I lowered my tib 2 inches. Oh well.

no modification will void the entire warranty unless it is the cause of the problem. if that happens, just swap out for stock before taking to the dealer and they have to fix it then hehe... god i love loopholes

Those mods will void the warranty on your sliding ashtray. Beware.

why did you buy it from the dealership? what did it cost you? shouldn't have told them or asked them to install. if you had to go through a dealer should have tried the one you don't go to on regular basis and then just installed it yourself. i'd say most of the time they would not even notice that you have a tibby swaybar.

I ordered it from a different hyundai dealership (we have plenty around here). I figured its made by hyundai why not have it installed by hyundai. I read the DIY on how to install it seems easy enough but that little note they write stock bushings are too small for the sway bar, can be forced to fit, plastic end links may snap ect. that part scares me so ill let a pro install it for me. Paid 118.33
Some dealerships are mod friendly. Hell, mine is actually selling a new tib in that sweet orange color WITH AFTERMARKET RIMS!!
Normally that isnt a shocker, but since when do dealerships do anything like that...

Yeah i usually dont deal with dealerships too much. Only for my warranty parts. Like my new tranny at 39,000. They didnt seem too pleased about that one!

You got screwed! While it's possible that lowering the car could adversely affect the CV joints, it should have no effect on the transmission. Did you contact Hyundai or simply accept the dealer's judgement? If you didn't already, I would complain to Hyundai directly.

No, it won't. It has no effect on anything else in the suspension except for the endlinks. It should actually reduce stress and wear in the rear shocks. It's unlikely that it will ever become an issue, but if it does, I'd fight it.
DO NOT take the dealer's word for ANYTHING relating to the warranty! They have a vested interest in denying warranty claims, as it increases their service profits when they charge customers for work that should be covered. Hyundai determines what is covered, not the dealer.

from JacksonJ's link:
Federal law sets forth requirements for warranties and contains a number of provisions to prevent vehicle manufacturers, dealers and others from unjustly denying warranty coverage. With regard to aftermarket parts, the spirit of the law is that warranty coverage cannot be denied simply because such parts are present on the vehicle, or have been used... The warranty coverage can be denied only if the aftermarket part caused the malfunction or damage for which warranty coverage is sought. Disputes in this area usually boil down to arguments over facts and technical opinions, rather than arguments over interpretations of the law.
