capitol's first day open for the season is next sunday. gates open at 12 and close at 5. 20 bux test and tune. i'm trying to get people to go. who's interested?

Do you have an auto or 5sp? With 5sp, you could easily hit low 16s.


I don't know how my all season tires will be sticking to the ground, so I'm thinking anywhere from mid-low 13's to even high 12s. I might try powershifting this time, see if it helps any.

I think I could honestly get a 17.0 or 16.9 if I had some new tires. My tires wont last another 200 miles. On my second try, I pb'd till about 3RPMS, and when I let it go, I tires spun alot. In fact, my second time actually had a faster speed than my first.

It was really fun tho. I cant believe the turnout at CapRaceway. Other than my car, I only saw 2 other cars that ran a 17+.

I will definately be getting that high stall tc now for the faster track time (.5-1sec). There are 2 other members on here with them. But they never seem to get alot of info.

Yeah, today was crazy! So many fast cars! Lots of camaros, T/As, vettes, stangs, evos. It was too packed though. I only got 3 runs.

The differences between the man and autos cant be that much. A stock 5spd xd ran 16.5. My auto with intake ran a 17.2 with bald tires.

i ran 15.6 at 89.XX mph. i don't have the timeslip with me but i think my 60' was 2.4. i can't remember. i know the car can run under 15.5. first launch held steady at 3k and launched from there. my second one i revved to 4k but i didn't hold it as steady so you know the motor didn't like that too much. i smoked my friends scion tC today:). and pashka you'll be happy to know that the chick with the rsx only ran 15.9. so i'd have beat her if i ran. oh and my second run i made a 15.8. once i get my rims/new tires i'll be there again. heres to going again and beating fords time ;)

I could have ran a 3rd time, but I needed to get to work. i was already 2hrs late. LOL

not to bad of reaction times for a first timer reece, with some practice, you can get those down to under a second.

The track was fun. There were literally hardly any cars above 16 seconds. Everytime I saw a ricey civic, I was like, "I can beat that." Than theyd be in the prep lane burning out. And I say, "Damn."

Nice times Cypher, but you need to get those 60' to 2.25, then you should see 15.2-15.1 runs.

In my beta1 tibby, I never revved above 2700rpms at the staging line, so you were probably spinning with your 3k+ launches.

My name is Brandon and i was the one with the Black 06 xd2 at Capitol raceway. As of right now i consider myself to be slow cause i only ran a 16.5. But the turnout for the track was very nice and there were alot of muscle cars out there. It was also good to see a couple of elantra's out there tearing up the track.

Cat back exhaust should help out alot as well. After I get paid next Friday, Ill prolly get this done.

Im getting the cat back next week, but no headers for me.

I searched and found they had minimal gains. Plus I think the hassle of them arent worth it (buzzing, fitment, o2 cels, emissions problems, loudness)

Don't know where you got that information from, but IMO headers is one of the best upgrades for our engines.

actually there wasn't any spinning at 3k;). the only spinning i had was shifting to 2nd gear! :) remember i have a stage 3 clutch so i'm not scared to burn the **** out of it hahaha. from practicing on the street i found out a launch at 4- 4.5k pulls HARD off the line. and since i finally have my laptop back i can put up my slips. and brandon good times for a stock elantra man! glad to know we have another person in the md area.

If I could get headers that would give me no cel, no buzz, and would let me keep one cat, I will get them. I would need an one with a bung (Hotshot) for an 02 senser, I would also have to get some kit to lengthen the 2nd 02 sensor to behind te second cat, since the first one will get removed. THis way I dont get a cel = instant failure on future inspections.

Tell me if Im right about this?
