'05 Elantra VE Hatchback from Canadia

Hello people,

I already own am '03 Tiburon and my wife is picking up her '05 Elantra VE Hatchback on Monday. I'm glad to have found a forum about the car and its drivers. I hope to be able to help and be helped. Hopefully I would be able to contribute to this board somehow, if anything, with good humor...

The Elantra my wife's getting is Manual 5sp and when we tested it, under hard braking the front right hand tyre seemed to sink and rub against the bottom end of the coil. The car is under Hyundai bumper to bumper warranty until Dec.'09 or 100.000Km and it only has 24K on it now.

We've asked the dealer to look at is and fix whatever needed to be fixed but if it should continue what do you guys recommend? Is this something the car just 'does'? I had a '97 Taurus that would 'just' occasionally drain the battery completely for no reason. The dealer told us it would just 'do it' and we had to live with it. We got rid of it...

you might want to do a quick once over on the shocks/struts just to see if one has blown...but other than that, welcome!! is the VE a canadian GT or GLS? and lets see some pics :)

As for me, the bottoming out on heavy braking has never happened. Blown strut should be it.

is the VE a canadian GT or GLS?
We have 3 levels in Canada... the GL which is the base, the VE (Value Edition), and the GT hatch or SE sedan...
So the GL would be like the GLS, the VE like the Limited.

Yeah but I'm groing on them. I pulled an enterprising prank on the first month I was a member and some people there didn't like it.
