Clarion's recent car show win got me thinking about this sort of thing. I was wondering how many people are interested in participating in car shows with their car now or perhaps after modding it a bit more, or a lot more?

So, would you enter your Elantra in a car show?

As soon as my current products come in and are installed....I'll have a show car on tha outside, but the inside still needs a bit of touching up/color wise...

yes sir!! i enter it currently, in both sound comps as well as car shows. bringing the 18's to get balanced tomorrow since winter is almost over. i think ill be showing the xd in about 20-30 shows this year alone. and im hoping to get the bodykit bought from daillistwun asap as well as painted and fitted real soon before some of the major shows creep up on me. needing those extra points w/the kit. and this year i should get a few sponcerships.
well i hope to see some of you in the lanes or at the shows.

i'm not really into showing my car off to random people...paranoia mostly....(keyings, dings, scatches) i change/modify, my car to my liking... could care less what people say... (they're just stupid and ignorant if they don't like it...) lol... and if I really wanted to show my car' I would NOT have bought a hyundai lol

Yes, I would enter a show. Since I now have some limited sponsorship, I'm almost forced to compete in some of the shows. My car may not when trophies, but at least it will be one more Hyundai to add to the show.

Im happy with my exterior and interior, people always tell me how clean and flawless my car is. I would like to get rims and I would like to get aftermarket headers and then I would go to shows.

Yes, after extensive modding.
I think I'd feel comfortable once it's at 200kw (272hp).

Yes I would. After the car gets lowered and some other goodies I have not put on yet and with the 19's I think I would do really well. Might not get 1st place like Clarion but there's always room for improvement. Plus anyways, I am looking for more than a show car beauty from my XD. I want clean but unexpected. And I think I am on track, since hardly anyone has 19's for their daily driver. I am more of a more power and handling sir, less show please kind of guy. I do not want to fall in the catagory of "All show and NO GO! :(

My $.02 worth.

I plan on entering shows after I finish (at least finish what I already have planned).
Headlights, rear bumper, grill, paintjob, fixing up the trunk with some custom setup for the sub, amp, and cap, the turbo... and I think it'll be ready for some shows.

Most of that is going to be finished within the next 2 weeks also. :D

Glad to see I'm not the only NO anymore.

For me, I mod it to mod it, I can't see myself ever being part of a car show, even if I had the nicest XD ever. That's just me I guess.

I would..and did. I'm sure I wont win any prizes, but its more of the car scene enthusaist that brings me to car shows...and also to see the hot babes and cool cars...:)

I do and I have done well. Out of seven shows I've won eight trophys. But I don't do it for the trophys, I just show my car for the fun of it, but it is nice to get rewarded for all the work I've done. :D

Once upon a time I might have, but the 'uber-uniquness' of a modded Elantra doesn't exist as much as it did before. That and with the car being now-almost-four years old, it has plenty of 'character marks' on it that make it not perfect enough for me to ever want to show it. 2 years ago, maybe, but not now.

been there, done that, have a shelf full of dust collectors.

It was fun to see the looks that a Hyundai would get at a show. Maybe someday I'll get a hotrod or something a little more rare and hit the shows again, but not till I can afford to not have to drive it every day.

I would on ONE of TWO conditions, I was there with friends. It would be more of a support for their efforts than for me. the other is if there was a decent group of Elantra people going to mingle and enjoy the time.

To me it doesn't take a "perfect" car with flawless paint or awesome interior to be in a car show. I personally appreciate all styles (even if I find them hideous) and think it's cool to see peoples ideas of something differnet.

I was in HIN in cleveland <look at my sig> and it was really fun, if your into modding cars alot you can get ideas from other entrys. It is just a cool atmosphere and everyone enters because they like thier cars and others. I don't have the amount of money that other people put into thier rides but I'm working with what i have and thats what its all about.
It is also nice to talk with people that pay to get in cuz you get the feeling "Dam, they paid to see all the cars here and part of that was because of me". And its cool when people take pictures of your car. :)

NO...i dont like showing newer cars unless they are radically chopped sliced and diced and have tons of custom work+beautful/wild paint jobs...im more of an old school and domestic car show kinda guy
