I think neither. Wait for some people with more CAI expereince on this one - but I thought the TIb CAIs did not have the correct routing path to fit in our engine bays. (Which is why people buy the CAI made for the Accord - which does fit).

Supposedly the Tiburon CAI's do work because under the sticky 'Accord Intakes' (5th sticky down) Cabonman Wrote This:

"Can I use the 2003 Tiburon CAI?
You can use the V6 CAI, overall length might be an issue though. there would be a 6" section missing from the long section of tubing where the MAF sensor goes. And its a 3" DIA. See point above.
What about the I4 CAI?
Sure will"

So according to that it will work but all it says about the CAI's I mentioned in the 1st posting is:

"What about the I4 CAI?
Sure will"

And that is not enough for me to go off if I'm going to spend $200 on this CAI I'm looking at.

you dont have a maf so the intake wont fit nicely

It's an 03, so it might have a maf. But instead of spending $200, why not just get the accord intake for $40?

I'm pretty sure they don't make the one I want for an accord at that price.

So does my 2003 Elantra 4dr have a maf sensor or not?

Still Which of the two I listed will fit?

In general the 2003 was a MAP car, although at the VERY end of the '03 production run, a few of them had the new MAF sensors installed - to the only way to be sure is to go look and see if you have the MAF in your intake.

The 03 does not have a MAF.... Looks better w/o the stock appearance and that block can't help.

You have to be careful when stating your car's year : I purchased mine in January 2005 and all the paperwork states it is an '05... however the sticker on the door says it was manufactured in 2004 :) Besides it's not like they throw all the unused cars out at the end of each year, or wait till each 1st January before making modifications.

um..... they don't wait 'till jan 1st to make the changeover....

new models are usually released august or september of the year before the "model year"..... example: an car built in november of 04 is usually a 05 model...

so, your car that was built in december of 04 (or whatever month) is an 05 model.

the 06 sonata was released in april or may last year if I remember right....

my 01 was built in december of 00.....

OK so my car has a manufacture date of April 5th 2003 now which CAI of the two Tiburon I4 CAI's do I get? I might just ask Craig as he was the one who wrote that stuff in the quote in my last post.

Please, please someone let me know with absolute certainty which of the two will fit?
Here is the quote again and keep in mind that my Elantra was manufactured in April 5th 2003:

I bought the CAI from evofusion (item# 8047195622) on eBay and am very happy with it. It gives the engine a beautiful growl and has a nice overall look. You must remove all stock intake including inside the space in front of the driver side front tire behind the bumper. The pipe runs from the throttle body, behind the battery, and down through an existing hole into the previosly mentioned mysterious cavern where the K&N filter is connected to the pipe. It's a well made product that provides the engine with truly cold air even after the engine has been running a while (not like the other short/ram intakes).
