the bottom line is, "power to weight ratio"... increase wheel HP or shed weight off car (ideally do both). How much money do you have to spend..?
Edit: sorry if that answer is glib... you are in the "same boat" as myself : from what I have read the XD2 with the Beta 2 CVVT engine is pretty well sorted from the factory.. meaning that there are not many options which will yield huge gains in HP. Nitrous, Supercharger or Turbocharger seem to be the BEST but of course like me you may be concerned about warranty with you new car. CAI or SRI can help to free up some HP by removing the restrictive stock intake. Exhuast headers and under the car a free flowing exhaust can also help the engine breathe. Some folks have completely removed or "gutted" their Catalytic converters but that can affect emissions and perhaps also your warranty. Under-drive pulleys can also free up some HP as does a lightweight flywheel (less energy used by the crank to drive these means more available for wheel HP). There is a light weight battery that some folks here are using (I have one on order).. you could also rip out all the seats, carpets, headliner, dynamat and A/C to shed some weight for free...

Unfortunately, there really isn't anything to bolt onto our cars to "greatly help" acceleration in our cars.

well what would help...doesn't have to be bolt on.....and off-topic, can't find a performance fuel rail for the xd2 any thoughts??

I have an 04 auto and have had a variety of cai's on, I have found that a cai with a diameter gives the auto the punchiest acceleration. I actually have one that i fabbed up and painted black if anyone is interested. It was one i bought off ebay and i added the cut to fit the maf and all that.

Can you possibly post pictures.....of the one you want to sell and how you have yours installed....I have a makeshift SRI, Installed myself but it really doesn't help all that much.

You should be aware of this depending on where you want your acceleration.. low down or at highway passing speeds. Agian with the auto you may not have seen so much of this but the CVVT really sings above 3-4K revs

Edit- its the photo with the black cai, the other silver one was a 3 inch one, and it sucked down low with the auto

did you just say NOS? lol this ain't the fast and furious. its nitrous! and if you aren't sure of something do it. someone without the right knowledge with nitrous is likely to pull their motor da **** up!
