take a pic of your exhaust manifold and i can tell you.....i have an 05 and i had to get my stock flex pipe re-welded to fit my hotshot header
Their power claims make me laugh so hard.04-06 manifold flanges stop right at where the oilpan attaches to the engine, not under the oilpan. It might still work though

1. it will fit with with no modification if you get one like pictured w/ 2 o2 bungs. some come with a bung on the primary and some come with one on the downpipe. rarely do they come with both
2. i dont know why theyre trying to advertise this as a 'Key header'. a genuine key header is what i have and is by far the best header available. obx, which is what this is, is about the most common, but also the cheapest header you can buy. you get what you pay for.
3. depending on the rest of your exhaust system, it may not be loud. if youre running stock cat back, it wont be bad. this is how nick basically ran his for a while. if you put a new exhaust on with no resonators, it will be loud and raspy. put a cat or a resonator in there it will quiet it down a lot.
4. like stated above, you wont get 17hp and 33 ft/lb torque. maybe 5hp 5 ft/lb.

It is exactly the same header I have. It will fit. You will have to have custom exhaust including a cat made. Use a glasspack after the cat and then your choice of muffler depending on how you want it to sound. A magnaflow or dynomax give pretty good deep sounds. Fart cans and cheap ebay ss mufflers like I have are hella loud.

You say it will fit an 04, but will it fit my 01?

header/exhausts go like this
2001 = 2002 = 2003 = 2004 = 2005 = 2006
the only thing that is different is the location of the 1st o2 sensor but it doesnt matter when you get headers

05 exhaust manifold.............
if it looks like that it will NOT fit

I cant remember off the top of my head exactly what the 05 manifold looks like, but that doesnt look the same. but we DID take nicks (projectx515) car and put a set of OBX headers on it. it required NO modification except for having to get an o2 bung welded in. besides that, it bolted up to the head and to the stock midpipe

i wish my manifold was like everyone elses :(.....i wouldnt have had to wait so long to get it installed. i havent seen any other 04 + manifolds but thats what mine looks like and my hotshots werent 100% bolt-up. I even asked hotshot and they told me it would.
The o2 on my stock manifold is directly on top. That be the xd2 manifold.
The xd's flange came down under the engine unlike ours do

its not a matter of where the flange after the cat and the DP meet since they will both be removed. if your stock manifold has a flange before the turn under the oilpan and the OBX has a flange after the turn under the pan, it doesnt matter. you will be pulling all the exhaust components from the head until the midpipe. that one section doesnt matter where the flange is
OBX headers WILL fit 01-06 elantras
why is this so hard?

Oh,im not trying to argue that they wont fit.Im just stating the difference.Hell,I got a 1st gen tib header on my car.Just takes some fabbing to make some headers fit

I think you hit the nail on the head there. If someone is looking to replace the stock exhaust manifold and down pipe with headers, those new headers are not going to just bolt up to the rest of the existing stock exhaust system... and you really need to invest in a better system back from that to get the most benefit anyway. Did I get that right?

okay.....this is where i went wrong. i was assuming he was just changing the manifold since thats all i did. hotshot doesnt include one. i had the pipe right before the flex section changed for a bigger one. i apologize for the confusion.

sort of. it seemed like people are saying because the XD's flange between the UDP and the DP is under the oil pan and the XD2's flange is in front of the oil pan the headers wont fit. what im saying is where that flange is doesnt matter because you will be replacing the manifold UDP and DP. on XD's and XD2's the OBX headers will bolt up to the stock midpipe where the stock cat back bolts to if you wish.
but yes, replacing with a upgraded cat back will be the best option
ok gotcha. i was under the impression the hotshot header went from the head to the point where the stock catback starts.
