I worked for Verizon for 3 years doing the DSL Tech Support tier 3. I miss working there, great benefits, good pay and wasnt a bad drive to work either. Hell I started with them before they were verizon and it was Bell Atlantic. How long have you worked there souless?

Good, if we get five more of these guys here, there may be enough to make up one good story/reason when your connection bites it tomorrow...and two days after...and the following week...
I hate comcast, but at least my connection hasn't bit it in over 14 months.</minirant> (touchy subject for people who work online for a living)

PS: PS... how do you guys get faster speeds wth DSL from Verizon???

They get it because it's not DSL. It's FIOS which is basically FTTP though I don't know what FIOS stands for. FTTP = Fiber to the Premesis.
Fiber Optic cable running into your home. They run Internet, TV and VoIP using that single line.
I believe that Fort Wayne is a test bed for Verizon before they roll it out to the rest of the nation. As a response to it, Comcast increased my line speed from 2mbps to 6mbps down and 384kbps up to 768kbps up.
Not a bad freebie if you ask me...plus I don't have to subscribe and deal with Verizon for a year. I think I'll stay with Comcast but from what I hear FIOS users LOVE the service.

FIOS = FIber OpticS...it runs on an EXTREMELY thin glass filemant/wire, and depending on the area, each piece of FIOS line has anywhere between 16 and 128 (though thats all i've seen) and is basically data transmitted through light beams at blazinlgy fast speeds...and i've been with verizon since january

I've been checking verizon's website for the past 2 years to see if my area has it, but I don't think FIOS is coming anytime soon near me :(
