It doesnt really matter which one you choose they will all give aprox 438,234.76 HP and roughly 684,296.764 ft lb's of tourque.
That's what i got. i'll post dyno's later.

I've only looked on SR and Ark but I know there are more....like obx and some others...

thats about all youre going to get. SR and kspec both sell the same jspeed pulleys, OBX has an underdrive, and ARK is about the only other option

question: is it really worth going for a full set or is it better to just get the crank pulley. I was wondering if there was more gains from a full set... I'm guessing yes since they're all lighter.

Shark Racing and Kspec sell the same brand of accessory pullies. The other option is to get the ARK accessory pullies. I dont see a difference is them at all. Save your money and get a under drive pulley that will free up some power, and will keep some money in your wallet.

RIGHT...BUT WHO'S WOULD BE THE BEST TO GET?I think the point is that this has probably been discussed MANY times before in this forum. It is suggested that you start with a search. IMHO it is not fair to just post a question and expect all the research to be done for you... OK maybe you are assuming that there are folks here who have already done that research and you are probably right in which case they probably already posted what they found.. so if you search you are likely to find your answers :) I don't have an exact answer for you but if I were to try and help you the first thing would do woud be a search of this forum. I suspect that these items are nice engine dressup and MAY free up a few HP due to rotating-mass saving but I doubt that it would be many HP if any. :)

Well I don't know about for the Elantra. But I have UR 3 set Under drive pulleys on my Accord, there FANTASTIC!!! The Crank is OEM size but about 6 pounds lighter. The Alt and Power Steering are under drive. I know the guys on the Accord sites haven't had any problems with them. So far I haven't. I saw real gains of 18 to 22 WHP from the pulleys. Also this is the Accord v6. It depended on what other mods u had done. I love them personal. I might one day get them for the wife's Elantra. I know the Accord guys had all kinds of problems with AEM pulleys. They were know for killing Alternators. I don't think AEM makes them for the Elantra.

well on the accord it did :p. besides. you can't say it doesn't help until someone has tried it.

I guess it'd be the same argument as wheel weights. my 13 lbs OZ's vs my 19lb alloys. i noticed a huge difference w/ the OZs. i can hardly keep the rubber on the ground most of the time since i got the new wheels

Cypher

exactly! you're still dropping weight off of something that needs to rotate so it'll help with acceleration.

ARK has em full size, light weight

i noticed a slight difference with my unorthodox crank pulley after i put it on. I believe its a light weight underdrive pulley

I noticed the rpms rev alot quicker than before...

other than that...thats it..:)

soo...i'm slow on this one...but...for a final answer regis, is it better to get an underdrive or full size light weight?

Cypher
04-08-2006, 03:56 PM
underdrive

Keyan
04-08-2006, 04:18 PM
full size

Cypher
04-08-2006, 04:23 PM
full size
why? it makes sense that the smaller diameter lighter pulley will rotate faster makes the car rev quicker as opposed to hte full size.

Keyan

It will make the accessories it's running spool faster and wear out faster, and when it comes to the alternator, it will not run correctly and will have a shorter life. If you get lightweights you don't have to worry about any of that and you'll get most if not the same benefits.

Cypher

true that it can hurt the accessories but for HP gains i think the UDP would be better.

THIS SUCKS!!

I've already ordered another as I don't have money to shell out for the Jspeed or Ark right now...

question..

I no longer have an impact gun, what else is a good way to make sure the bolt is tight enough when I put it back on.........AGAIN

That is just screwed up man.

Just torque the nut to like 160 ft lbs

wear and tear I guess....

didn't you get your 60k done at the dealership?

My thoughts are they cracked it trying to get it off to get to the timing belt.

He's got an auto as far as I know

I think there's an access hole in the tranny where you can wedge a prybar against the flywheel? (I don't know auto tranny terms:redface: ) Then torque it down.
If it were manual, step on the brake with it in the highest gear and torque it down.

Lol Tricked, that sounds dangerous. Like you potentially really damage something.

How did you break the udp?

What?!:) I have actually read that in a manual before.
