so, a friend and i were talking about exhausts. could i use a turbo manifold, custom make a connecting down pipe and then run the exhaust? this is with out using a turbo. would this help in creating a bit more back pressure giving more gains vs using the "race" headers like obx and others?

hmmm
i think it would come to the exact same thing as a 4-1 header
though the thing is with headers that the longer the runners are (before they meet), the more velocity your gases will have, the more power you will <make>.

you can definetely do it. I think you'll make less power than you expect though. just go with one of the better headers on the market (kspec, hwrang) or you can always have a custom one made.

dave- i dont think we can be friends anymore. im sorry
kidding aside though, why would you want to do that? 150$ for the cheapest headers, UDP, DP, its gonna set you back way more than a good set of headers.
if you want a little more power, scour NT and see if you can find some hotshots or even key headers (which i doubt you will, but try)
