There has been a bunch of accidents lately and as much as it's not fun to talk about them, it happens.
So, has your Elantra been in an accident?

Yeah two times now. **** stupid 16 year old kids that hit you from behind when you're stopped in a line of traffic and 45 year old black ladies that are speeding and don't know how to brake.

No not yet,but I suppose one day it will happen. It seems like people these days cannot drive.Everyone is in a hurry to go nowhere now.
Yes, a fender bender a couple years ago. No damage though, thankfully!

i clipped someone who was illegally parked on the side of the road (instead of pulling into the lot she was blocking)...the next day my sister backed into the other side of the car. late nov/early dec i slid on some ice and went into a ditch and trashed the drivers side.
we'll say 3 major accidents, and a couple tiny ones
im really not a bad driver, i just get ****tly luck

I was lightly rear ended... 2 circle scratches about .5" diameter. Cost $450 to strip and re paint... Luckily guy in the mustang paid.

My car met with unfortunate demise on Thursday morning when a lady pulled out of a neighborhood and just kept coming into my lane. My pristing car now has to have the bumper, hood, and front grill replaced. Suffice it to say, she received more damage, but that's what happens when you hit someone coming down from 50 mph.
My wife's 04 was also in an accident...
I should get 2 votes... ;)

in my country accidents are quite common unfortunately, its just been three years since driving with a seat belt has been mandatory. Would you believe that i have spent half of my life driving without a belt or even air bags. Air bags are still a luxury here and very few cars have them!!

whats wrong with that?? hahaha
anyway....ok....my xd has been in three acidents...all minor...i was rear ended at a light(just bumbed really)- no damage.
slid on black ice...damaged bottom of driverside fender (it buldges a little too)
slid on ice and came real close to somebodies bumber...and made a mark almost down the entire passenger side of the car...the door had cracked paint and there are still war scares from it...
my wifes xd2 had the whole front end replaced - a truck backed up into it.
she slid of the road into a snow bank....bottom of passenger rocker panel is pushed in.
does everybody see what i hate the winter??? it sucks!!! :D

I've had a total of 2. They weren't major. The first was in the high school parking lot a few years ago. A chick in this lifted chevy truck ran over me. That was about $2,000 And then about 5 weeks ago got into another fender bender in the college parking lot which was about $600. Hmmm I'm starting to see a pattern here....

Two.
When i went through a "lake" in a parking lot, the water went up into my intake, and in the my engine.
Then my school decided not to plow the drive way into the parking lot, and i slammed in to the curb, 500 dollars in damage
Oh and the year before, a sign blow over on my car, in the school parking lot.

I had the closest thing to an accident.
Coming out of a garage in Baltimore I had a car pull out at me, I swerved & missed him. As I go to pay this guy yells "Hey man you hit my car" . At first I thought it was one of those "you hit me scams".
I look & there is a white mark on his car. I yell , I have a black car, you have a black car where the hell did you get white on your car.. :headshake
Long story short, the black bumper guard on my car rubbed the front if his car as he pulled out. I explained, quite loudly that I had the right of way LOL. :D
There was an off duty cop that who did nothing  but his presence & the fact that the a**hole was in a :nono: handicapped parking spot without a handicap tag, calmed him down & we went out separate way..... BOY WAS THAT CLOSE !!!!!!! :kick: The white mark was the wax on his car (he did have a brand new Mazda) that rubbed when he pulled out & my lightning fast reaction save me  ... this time....

Although I've been in no accidents in the XD (knock on wood) - I've had to have repairs twice. I was keyed ($1200 damage) when the car was 8 months old, and about a year and a half ago, some stuff fell off a garbage truck and dented/scratched my hood ($900 damage). Insurance paid both, minus my $250 comprehensive deductible each time. If I do get in an accident, I hope it totals the car, as I don't want to have yet another repaint.

Only one...a stupid Pizza Hut driver stops behind me while I backing up. Only damage was some scratches on the rear bumper. It has not been fixed..."Scratches give character...and women like character." Plus I drive downtown everyday so it is a matter of time before some latte sipping, SUV driving yuppie talking on a cellphone takes me out on the parkway...I usually come close to having it happen to me once a week.

My old elantra (01gls) was hit about 3 times and everytime I was not at fault.
My current car (03gt) was hit once and that was the rear bumper when it was parked.

I was rear-ended in Germany. Fortunately, my custom tail lights and KORE cat-back were untouched. The BMW 323 was totalled. The engine was pushed damn near into the passenger compartment. My bumper had a two-inch tear and a couple dents and scratches. Replaced bumper...respray....alignment check...that's it. That was about two years ago.
On Friday (Mar 24, 06), some jackass turned left in front of me from an unprotected light and I slammed into him at about 40mph. Don't know yet if it's a total loss.
Both accidents were not my fault.
EDIT: I just found out that it is a total loss. Rest in peace, ol' girl.

its really more like one and a half for me. one time it was a landscaping truck spewing rocks that chipped up the whole car, so i don't really count that. the real one was hitting a deer at 35 mph and totaling the front end.

Lets see...bought the car in august 2005 (brand new), hit some lady coming out of my tattoo shop, half my front bumper taken off, cracked her hubcap...my fault...a month later (3 days before it was gonna go into the shop) i got sideswiped by an 18-wheeler. the dude only spoke spanish and the cop found it to be a double fault...deal with your own insurance thing...3 days after that i get rear ended on main st. i have a $12,000 loan on the car and the totals for repairs were: front bumper - $500, Door Skin, New quarter panel - $2400 (Bumper, Door Skin and quarter panel were out of pocket), getting rear ended (an unmentionable amount of labor and parts, under the other guys insurance) - $9,000!!!!!!!!!!!! and a month w/o my car...and i'm 18 so the insurance company wouldnt get me a rental because you have to be 21 to get one in ct...f*ck people, next peron who hits me, im gonna throw a f*cking brick at their head

2 for me. About a couple of days after buying it. It was a very windy day and the door flew out of the hands of a friend of mine and the edge got dented in... a couple of months ago an idiot in NYC backed into my drivers side door... Door would not open.

all 3 my fault mostly unexpected ice. I too hate winter.
1st guy in front of me stopped I was rolling and checking for traffic, bumped into him no damage, 2nd going over a bridge person in a truck stopped where there is no stopping had to lane check looked back she stopped thought she was slowing down, there were spots of ice mostly really bumpy pavement, ABS kicked in and crunched my front bumper and hood and head lights and fender ($8000+ cdn) for eveything, 3 still not fixed yet, Driving at about 10:30 at night after work and a guy cut accross the road when I was doing 70 in a 70 slowed down to about 50 at avoid him then going around a turn back end started to slide out cought me off gaurd did the big no no press beak rather than gas to bring the rear back in line stated fishtaling driver side front hit right side curb spun me around scratched my rear bumper and ht steerring wheel is out of alignment and a couple days after that some son of a b***h breaks my window outside of my house so the window borke all up cust bill stayed together so the money to fixing my car went to that in stead. Here in Canada the insurance is different I have a $200 deductable where I pay $200 and the insurance company pays ther rest, plus I have to pay $200 to renew my license.

Yeah, some girl hit my car at a red light. She took her foot of the brake and rear ended me. The only damage I had was a small circle from her license plate screw on my bumper. I was able to fix it so no serious issue.

I voted "more than once."
I've never hit anyone in it, but people seem to hit it in parking lots and then drive off like they did nothing. Because of that I need to touch up the bumper and probably get a new trunk lid.

My 05 gls has been in an accident, but im glad to inform it wasnt while i owned the car, i got it used with about 20k miles from a dealership, its got a 'rebuilt' title because some idiot hit the front drivers side fender, it needed a new fender and bumper but thats it, the foam under the bumper didnt need to be either, i do have a question though, and im wondering if its related, because my 'passenger air bag' light comes on even when someone is sitting there, where is this sensor and how can i adjust it to get it to work right? i went back and told them and they didnt do anything, i left it there a week while i was on vacation and before i left the guy just said 'my wife sat there when i drove it for a week to make sure everything worked and it was fine' and when it doesnt work I kind of had the urge to go be like 'well look i dont know how much your wife weighs but my gf is 110 pounds and it doesnt work right'.. but yea, it has been in an accident.

What REALLY sucked was the cheet I went through with the worthless rentacops at work. I was parked AT the front door. The place has cameras everywhere and I told 'em within 15 minutes when it happened (I left work early. Dirtbags probly figgered I wouldn't see it till next shift change.)I told 'em the color & style of car (Blue & tall). No joy. Aholz wouldn't even try.
What REALLY $uck$ is that now you maniacs have me thinkin' I maybe oughta get that body work done & toss on a set of weeelz...
