I was on the way to my local advanced auto to return those rhino-ramps cause my car was too low for them. Well it started to downpour one of those summer downpours, and there was a sharp left turn. I told my $#!@ing parents I needed new tires. Do they listen? noooooo....... I took the turn at like 40mph, and the back end kicked out. Went sideways into a tree, B-pillar collision. I don't have pics yet but if you search for "skyline" you can see that one that was hit that ilan posted. Well mine was hit on the passenger side. I don't know what I'm going to do now, I hope insurance pays it off

dude, know the story before being an ***...maybe his parents agreed to get him the tires and didnt come through...

I wasn't going to say it, but I was thinking the same thing. The fact that you lost control of your car in the rain has nothing to do with your parents' failure to buy you new tires; it has to do with you driving too fast for conditions.

Sorry about the car though...

sorry to hear about what happened, hope things get better soon

i think both you and your parents are at fault here.. a little more of you than them though. sure.. they could've gotten you new tires and maybe you would've avoided the crash today. or if you had gone slower around a turn you knew was sharp, none of this would've happened. theres also the possibility of you purchasing the tires (though i don't know you financial situation and don't really want to get into it.. just another possibility).

whatever it may be.. i hope your car gets fixed fast and insurance doesn't skyrocket.

Why can't you get a job to buy your own tires and how fast where you going in this turn to hit a tree?

im with him 100%

maybe they agreed to get you tires, but come on. you're an adult. if you knew you needed new tires, you should've went and bought them and asked your parents to reimburse you. if you knew the turn was there, you should not have been taking it at a speed thats high enough to let the back end come loose.

im not hating on you, youre a good kid, but remember...when you point the finger at someone, youve got 3 pointing right back at you.

oh s*** man, that sucks monkey balls. ah damn. i hope you're doin all right.

^even with good tires, you shouldn't make turns at 40mph in the rain.

upps.. should have read that again before I made my post (came back to it). OK, how hard was the turn?

evan938
04-01-2006, 04:18 PM
doesnt matter. 40mph + heavy rain + bald tires on ANY turn could be bad. i have a feeling if he hit a tree, its going to be on a back road with a sharp turn that a tree could be near the road. you usually dont see long sweeping roads in the city with trees at the edge of the road. not to mention it would be pretty hard to get a rear end loose on a long sweeping turn

you're kidding....right?
Not really no...I agree with the other posters. You should have purchased some new tires if you needed them that bad. Even cheap el'crapo brand tires that cost the price of 1 nice tire for all 4 would still have had better traction than bald tires. Sounded like you were driving too fast also.

You're 20 man.....let me put it this way. I'm 21, married and with a kid. I live in a house (though I do rent it) and STILL go to college. If my wife (who's 20) or I need new tires then WE go out and buy them.

It's possible not to rely on your parents 100% at our age....believe me I know because I'm doing it.

*sorry if this is harsh but I'm just trying to be honest*

Keyan, just for that, I'm going to mess up your MAF sensor next time I see you hahaha.

Nice joke. On a side note, Someone got me today... or at least tried to.

I come out and from a distance it looked like someone keyed Alpha Sigma Phi is for pussies on my car. When I got closer, it was just window marker. And I know who it was... it was a few of my brothers that own Tibbies... by the end of the day, I will get them back. I have a few bullet hole stickers that I'm going to put on their cars going into the engine... :)
