HEy Guys. Id Like to say Im new to this sight and I'm very interested into turning my elantra into a drag machine. I really don't know where to start. Im a regular at my local track in NC driving my friends cars but im now interested into using my own ride. I have a 2003 Hyundai Elantra GLS Automatic transmission, and I would like to get a manual transmission for it. I'm not worried about looks right now. It's straight stock down to the bone. I want to start from scratch. You guys know alot about Elantras and I would like some guidance. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bowdown:

for an auto i'd say cai, exhaust, header, torque converter, and all the other mods... plz excuse me its hard to think when drunk

Welcome to the site.
This site does not support street racing, so we only talk about drag racing on the track or pretend that it happened at the track.
As for a tranny swap, you're looking at big dollars, and remember the search button can help in all situations. :)

search for alpine developments site on google and look for there turbo kits
it takes your slow azz bone stock 100whp elantra and gives it 226 whp of solid intercooled boost for about 2600 bucks

screw everything else
buy the turbo..the tranny, the clutch and flywheel and your set

easy 13 second car..where as for now your running a 17 or so

Hey Guys Thanx for the tips. As I read the links Seinster posted I decided to hell with the tranny swap!! I do have the cash but not worth it. I will use the cash to buy another Elantra 5 speed and trick both out. They will be night and day(black and white) But for now I will focus on making the automatic faster. I will take your advice and search site befor posting and will post pictures and specs of finished products when both are done. Once again Thanx 4 the Help

Save your money for the other car. I wouldn't bother modifying auto.
