I was just googling around, stumbled across this web site, and thought I would say hello! I just bought an '05 Elantra GT (blue!) today. I already love it.

I had an '02 Accent GLS that was rear-ended a few weeks ago and declared a total loss. I was really upset, but figured this was a good chance to address my main complaint with the Accent: TOO SMALL. I really liked my Accent and my mother has owned two Sonatas that she has really enjoyed. I knew Hyundai was for me and the Elantra seemed like a good choice.

Well, I went car shopping today and got a 2005 Elantra GT hatchback! My friends who went with me also really liked the car and are considering an Elantra hatchback themselves. I am really excited about it and am looking forward to using this website as a good resource for info about Elantras.

Welcome to the site. Pull up a chair and stay awhile. Like everyone said, search is your friend. But if you can't find the answer you can always ask or send us a PM.

Thank you for the welcome everyone! I will certainly search around the site and the forum for answers to any questions. I don't really know that much about the mechanics of cars, but this site seems like such a great resource that I am going to try learning as much as I can.

I took a picture this morning:

Did you choose the 5-speed or Auto?

I got an auto because I don't know how to drive stick. I would really like to learn to drive a manual and my friends are looking at an 04 GT with a manual transmission so maybe I can learn from them and next time it's time to buy a car, that can be an option for me. My brother insists manual is more fun to drive!
