Acually it's bronze but whatever :D I guess I used the wrong example, haha

It's basically all that color, with a polished lip, but itself is split in two with a stripe of bronze.

Still can't guess which model it is?

Are they lightweight?

I decided to get bronze ones instead (i'm an indecisive bastard)...and they are lightweight rims....:)

KeWLKaT
04-13-2006, 06:10 PM
Well... Not lightweight, but not heavy. 17-18 lbs last time I checked. I will go weigh them now, with tires to see :D

OK, they're at 33.5 pounds with 205/40 tires, which is a couple of pounds less than the stock weight. Yeah, yeah, theres the weight distribution factor, etc. etc, I know my physics :D Still, I can say that I'm satisfied :)

hmmm just found a small object embedded inside of one of the tires, like a small piece of metal.

The rims were all in a closet during winter, 3 of them had like 28 pounds still (normal), but the one in question had ZERO pounds wtf!!!

Any of you guys know how much it costs to fix those small leaks? Or is it even doable?

LOL thats what i get for being cheap and buying used rims

Keyan
04-13-2006, 06:16 PM
Just a couple bucks, they can plug it as long as it isn't in the sidewall.

KeWLKaT
04-13-2006, 06:20 PM
nope not the sidewall. yes!! :D

Keyan
04-13-2006, 06:39 PM
Just posting again to keep the keyan ->kewlkat ->keyan going

+1

:)

Oh wait I have to say something useful.

Ok, don't break them. :)

KeWLKaT
04-13-2006, 07:06 PM
LoL, ill try not to break em, though it will be hard in a city like this one... blah its all good :D if i break it i replace it thats all ;)

Seinster
04-13-2006, 08:04 PM
Looks like some nice rims, can't wait to see them on your ride.
Sometimes imbedded objects don't actual puncture totally through the rubber, so you might be lucky, and it can heal itself.

KeWLKaT
04-13-2006, 08:05 PM
well it seems it is punctured, lol, i inflated it to 35 lbs and here, 2 hours later, its down to 33 :P

I HOPE alinement shops have the hardware to fix this so i can still roll tomorrow :)

those are are going to look f'in sweet on a black hatch!!

KeWLKaT
04-14-2006, 01:02 PM
Well, just came back from getting them balanced/repaired.

Though, the leak was in diagonal so they had to patch it instead of plugging it. Is this reliable or will I have to buy a new tire?

Though they arent on the car right now, check this thread:

AtlXD2
04-14-2006, 05:39 PM
heh I was reading though the thread and I was like NOOOO DONT PLUG THEM. never plug a tire. always patch. thats a public service announcement.

BlackElantraGT
04-14-2006, 05:59 PM
I think if they were able to patch it, your tires should be good. Just check your tire pressure often to make sure it's not leaking. I wouldn't spend the money on another tire.

only1db
04-14-2006, 06:25 PM
yeah patches are a scary thing...so after you get the tie rods done....then the rims are going on?? we need pics man!!

KeWLKaT
04-19-2006, 09:08 AM
They're on!

OMG!

**** THE REAR SWAYBAR, 17's are the first thing anyone should do for handling!

only1db
04-19-2006, 09:23 AM
^ahahha no crap!! the stock mich suck big hairy balls!!

and to be technical...you should lower the car first than lower...so you wont have any rubbing issues....then sway bars and braces....then a lsd....then a roll cage....then some beefier seats to hold you in place....this list could continue....LOL

KeWLKaT
04-19-2006, 09:40 AM
read this parts slowly again:
you should lower the car first than lower

:D

Yes, agreed. Lower first. Or else you'll look like a fool!

evan938
04-19-2006, 10:21 AM
OR you can get some nice sticky tires w/ your stock 15s that will still handle well ...:D

KeWLKaT
04-19-2006, 10:23 AM
Evan, it's not the stickiness of the tire itself, but the amount of sidewall it has to flex. You will never understand until you drive a car with 17s yourself :)

Oh, and, automatic turbo granny cars don't count :D

focusXD
04-19-2006, 01:38 PM
evan's rolling on 215/50/15s so he doesn't have that much more sidewall than you and his tire is still wide.

KeWLKaT
04-19-2006, 02:31 PM
wtf? 50? that is SO undersized!

anyhow im on 40 so trust me, there is still a BIG difference Jim

focusXD
04-19-2006, 04:11 PM
im running 215/50 kuhmo ecsta 711s

this is steve dude. i've been lurking awhile but thought i'd poke in here a lil bit. me and jimbo are partying friday night :D

KeWLKaT
04-19-2006, 05:57 PM
No, cause I know that jim uses your account sometimes :D

anyhow, i still stand by my comment that 50 series is too small for 15s.

Picture!! (sorry, no closeups, car is filthy and I aint cleaning it for another 4-5 days :D)

never said it wasn't.

diameter with 50/15s = 23.5in
40/17s= 23.8in
stock = 24.2in

not too far off from ya

It's not the Virus model. :D I liked them at first, very nice wheel but I see them everywhere now... Why did you have bad experience with the Virus? Or are you in the same boat and everyone has them?

I got the new 2006 Vice Titanium!
