a 40 mm offset is the most common offset for a 17x7 rim...so most if not all of the 17's on here will be 40 mm offset, unless the owner ordered them elseways...

I have yet to add pics of my ride. I am waiting for better weather so I can wash it and make it look nice and clean inside and out. This rain sucks!!!

I wish!! It's been raining off and on now for month's. There's been a flood warning close to where I live for a month now. The rivers are really high. It's been fairly nice the today and yesterday though.

I would think about getting 215/45-17 tires with the 17's. The following website states that this size would fit under our Elantra's:

they would only fit if your car wasnt lowered and if the suspension were 100% stock. other than that, you may rub

hell with stock suspension, you still may rub if you have a full back half of the car going around turns.

215/45 & +40 is a definite rub unless you get camber bolts and max out your camber.

:halm: I say go for the 225's and let us know how they work for you. I like the idea of that much rubber in contact with the road.

I've got a question for you all. :drive: What is the highest speed you have taken a corner without losing contact with the road? When you get a chance to find out let us know. Just make sure no police are anywhere near you. :2gunsfiri I LOVE CORNERING!!! :halm: :halm:

I have a question.. and I think this was probably the best place to post it under.. I just ordered rims off of ebay that were 17x7 with +40mm offset. What I wanna know is how big of a tire size can I go upto with out it rubbing because I dont want low low profile tires.. I want them to be alittle big but not to big. If you catch what i'm saying? thanks in advanced.

I'm also reading that is will there be a camber on my car also with this aftermarket rims? My car's all stock and kinda dont want the camber.. LoL

I have 215/45 and a 40mm offset with Apex springs and Tiburon Ultrasport struts with about -1 deg. camber. I did also roll the rear fenders with a baseball bat to be on the safeside but, I never had a problem with them rubbing before the rolling.

What is the biggest tire size that i can put on them?

And would I get a camber with these wheels or not? just checking.

Agent Sirex, this is just one of those questions that can only be answered through trial and error. At the most, I would probably say 215/45 would be the biggest you can go with. Not many of us have gone with 225 width. You also have to realize that it also depends on what tires you get too because one tire model varies from another. It seems like based on what you're asking for, you'll want to stick with 45 series tires, so for you it comes down whether you want 205/45 or 215/45.

Aight.. thanks.. and do you know how bad of a camber i might get from it? enough to wear the tires badly or like nothing at all..

Your camber shouldn't be affected much, unless you specifically requested for a specific camber when you get your alignment done. If your car is aligned properly, your suspension works fine, and you balance/rotate your tires every 6000-7500 miles, your tires should bald normally.

I'd recommend 205/45 if you want to avoid any potential problems. Those are a for sure fit with a 45mm offset wheel.

I have 17X7's +40 with 215/45-17 Nankangs and H&R Springs. I have no rubbing problems normally unless I have 3 people in the back seat.

Here's how close my setup is. 17x7 +42 offset & 215/45. Remember that there's a lip sticking inside. But it's still just enough to not rub when compressed. If I can find someone to roll the fenders for cheap/free, I am definitely doing it. Once I'm lowered it'll be too close for me to be comfortable.

The biggest size is probably the 215/45-17's. I wouldn't go any bigger than that.
