ive got the 711's now and i love them. i think the 712s are the ones that have the lines both going towards the center in a V formation, right?
ive never used kuhmos but when i put the 711's on, i was amazed
****...sorry, pics didnt load up before i posted

i have the 711's and i like them, good cornering, my only complaint is it seems like my front wheels are a lot quicker to spin, which is really not cool because it's not a very hard tire.

The last picture is of the Kumho SPT, not the 712. I'd get the Kumho SPT by the way. I think it's supposed to be the replacement for the 712 and it performs very well in its class, especially for the price.
I guess the 712 would be my 2nd pick.

I would go with Kumho before I would go with Sumitomo.
Of the choices of tires, even though the 712 would be better than the 711, you can get the 711 from tirerack.com for a little over $50. The 712 costs a little over $70. I think the 711's are the cheapest, best tires you can get but if you wanted to spend a little more ($70), you might consider looking into the Falken Ziex 512. At one point there were rated #1 tires by Consumer Reports. Not as sporty as the AVS ES100's, but I could care less since they're cheaper and offer more treadwear. They're all season performance tires though.

Although the tread on the 711 is'nt the coolest looking, it will probably give you the best all around performance. You gotta watch those V-shaped treads in the rain. Designed to channel water but in reality it's more like becoming the current in a stream

Quick question since im looking for tires as well, which of those choices are best in winter driving

None of them would be good for winter driving since they are all summer tires. But I'd guess the 711's would be best because of the smaller tread blocks.

i have blizzacks on the stock rims...you cant beat them...especially trucking around the poconos...
the onlything i'm concerned with the 711's are the blocks...my proxes felt like they moved under the car...real hard to explain...i have a feeling that those will be the same way...
bdiddy...what are you talking about?? directional v shaped patterns are the best in the rain...thats why the Goodyear F1's were rated the best rain tire...
the sumitomo's are rated at 220 tread wear!! they must be sticky!

^^ just because they have a low treadwear rating doesn't mean they are sticky. They could just really suck. I have had good luck with Falken tires. I would look into them.

I don't know what the conditions are like in your area, but if you can possibly get by with All Season performance tires, you might want to look into the Falken Ziex 512. For 215/45/17, I got my set of 4 with their tire warranty for $330 shipped.

Where did you get the Falken Ziex 512 shipped for $330? I am all over that! Are yours the ZR rated ones?

I ordered mine from discounttiredirect.com. The price has gone up a bit because the total for my order was $336. That price included the Certificates for Free Replacement, but I also removed tire stems ($12) from the order. Right now on their websites with the tire stems removed, it's showing up a total of $345.
You'll probably want tire stems with your tires. For these tires, it came down to either discounttiredirect.com or vulcantire.com. At the time when I placed my order, which was back in February, DTD was $336 vs $350 from Vulcan.

Tread looks awesome, plus they have a great rim saver lip, plus they are like the highest rated by Consumer Reports, plus I hear they they are great for not rubbing in 215/45X17 size. ALL GOOD.
Thanks BlackElantraGt for the best price site, I will be getting mine soon.....after I finally make my wheel decision.

check out www.edgeracing.com
I know of a few people that have bought tires from them, and have had very good luck. I just ordered my Falken Azenis from them, and have been happy with their service thus far.
