Hey all I got my tinting done last Friday and on Saturday I took it back to the place because I was unhappy with the job. On the front driver side window there is a gap of tint missing and the guy told me well, its because your window doesnt sit right. He showed me that when he pushed the window over to the right it had less of a gap but I dont want to be bothered constantly pushing my window over. What do you guys suggest that I do?

tell them to fix it.
if they refuse, let them know youre on your way to file a complaint with the chamber of commerce and the BBB (if theyre a member).

I know thats what I was thinking. The thing is this is about my 4th car that they have done for me and its the worst one. The problem is they are so busy talking either on the phone or to their customers as they are working and not concentrating and that really gets me angry.

If I do that I will have to pay double the price. I really would like to take it back to my original place have them take the tint off give me my money back and use someone else. I know they wont do that they will tell me oh just push your window over. Its the window. We dont give money back only credit.

If it's warrantied through the tint manufacturer.. sometimes you can take it elsewhere and get it redone. The guy that did my tint was great, he looked at my fiancee's car, and told me if I could get her warranty info, he'd retint it free, remove the old tint and put the new on. IF I can't get her warranty info, he said he'd still remove the old tint and just charge for the new tint.

I havent had my gls tinted yet(200+) but on my grand prix they scratch the **** out of my interior doors some how.So I raised hell in their shop and they took 50$ off the price.

tint here in ohio is around 180-190 for elantra but that is lifetime warranty on the tint from fading/bubbling/peeling
There is always a "gap" on the window but if you goto a good shop that gap should only be a max of 1/16"

yeah i dont have much of a gap, paid 180 for 7 windows on the GT, i'd tell them to shove it if they think i'd be happy with "pushing my window over"

Nothing is cheap in NY.Every place I call has the same prices and I only want legal tint.So its almost a waste of money since legal tint here is very, very light.I have been puled over soo many times for my tint on other cars. Now the ****ing sheriffs carry those tint checkers so now theres twice as many officers out there checking peeps tint, there taking it too far around here.

Pics would really help on this, I can't visualise what you're talking about...
O/T: I paid 245 for 20% all round goodness, with lifetime warranty for fading/bubbling, etc...
However one thing that pissed me off is that when I got my side mirrors painted, the body shop somehow managed to chip around 3mm of tint off the top edge of drivers side window, it isn't noticable when closed, but annoys me a little bit when it is open.

I will try to get pics up as soon as possible.
I paid $130 for all windows except of course the windshield. My next door neighbor reminded me after it was done that he had a guy that would do it for $80 and he does such an awesome job.

In Phoenix I paid $135 for my GT sedan to get 5% all the way around except windshield. In El Paso, Tx where I am from I could get it done for the price of the tent and a case of beer. It is a great job too. Damn expensive phoenix.

I would take it back, demand them to fix it or refund your money and remove the tint so that you can go somewhere else with the funds towards a better job.
ot: I went to Dr. Tint in Hagerstown, MD and they did a BEAUTIFUL job. Lifetime guarentee & no bubbles. I'm very impressed but then again this is my 5th car done by Dr. Tint and I send everyone I know to them. They wouldn't settle for a job like that and nor should you.
oh and the % on mine is fronts - 35% back windows - 15% and back hatch is 5%.
Yea,im in the same boat here.I had my windows done at The Tint Shop in Glen Burnie and the rear windows are starting to peel a little bit and there are some small bubbles in the rear quarter glasses. Now i'll have to drive back over there so they can fix it

I wasnt happy with the tint job I first got done on my car and I ripped them a new asshole about it and they re did it and it looked like sh*t again so I told them to either fix it the right way or give me my money back and he gave me my money back and I went to my buddy whos tints and he did a great job. It all depends on the place you go to and there reputation. Here is a piece of advice about a good tinter, he will tint the window up to the TOP and leave NO SPACE of non tinted window, thats how mine looks.

yeah, thats the right way of doin it, not leaving a big *** gap @ the top.no more tint for me, its hard to find someone who's not burned out day after day doing this for a living, and it shows in there work!

Definitly sound advice, I make all my appts in the morning so that their not burned out by the end of the day. The results always speak for itself.

I always go to this place and this is the worst job ever. I am going back tomorrow after work and if they give me another b/s story about the window not fitting right then I am telling them to take it off and just give me my money back. Oh wait I forgot there is a sign there that says no refunds just store credit. The problem with them is that they are too much on the phone and talking to customers when they are supposed to be doing the job. What gets me the most is that I am sitting right there and they are constantly talking Korean to every single person that walks in. I dont think thats a way to run a business. I believe that if there is a person in your vacinity that doesnt speak the same foreign language then you speak English to everyone!
Nobody take this the wrong way who is from a different country. My grandmother and cousins are both from different countries and have always spoken English around others who dont speak the same language.

Take it back, tell them to redo it. Don't except that you have to push tha window to see it. There's no excuse to have tint missing. You might have to be a super B****, I learned that when u complain, Sh** gets done. If they try to charge u more money, tell them to take it all off and give u your money back. Not Store Credit, and take someone with u. Havin 2 people somehow helps....
The first thing I did was tint my windows (2003). Cost me around $300, but they did a great job and I got 5% Limo which was an added price (Just tha 2 Back Doors+Trunk Window)...They still look great.
