Right now I have a sony 1200watt amp at 300 rms x 2, two 12 sony xplode subs, and a regular Q-logic box. Got it for around 350 or so.

A neighbor is selling two 12 eclipse t4s 400rms, a godzilla box(ported), and I think it was an eclipse amp at 1000 rms. He paid about 2000 and has had it for 6 months. He said I could have it for 1000 dollars and it sounds pretty good, much better than mine.

If I sell my system for 400-500 or so it will take my subway paycheck 5 weeks or more not buying anything that whole time.
The question is would this be worth it? Anything I need to look at? He seems like a trustable guy. Your opinion.

i had a 10 inch P5 xplode sub in my car, it sounded good coupled to a 400 watt MTX thunder 8302 amp...while both met their untimely demise at the same time, it sounded good for the week or two it was installed...overall, the SQ on the sony sub was better than i was assuming it to have been..id just stick with the setup ya got now

Unless you 'need' the better stuff (to showoff, competition, etc) stick with what you got. You can rock your tunes with what you have now, and don't have to spend another dime to do it.

Think about your financial independence bro.... lol
if your going to spend 1000.00 on another system, would it be worth it.... or to just save your subway paychecks so you can have some money to fall back and lean on....

If you had the money laying around to be able to shell out $1000 without hurting your account, then I'd say it is worth it. But if you gotta start selling mad **** and spending your next 20 paychecks on just this, then you'd be a fool to do that. If you want a better system, do what I did. Start off with something crappy or something that is just OK, and replace components with better ones one at a time. In about a year or two, you could have high powered but nice sounding system and still have spending money!

No offense, but there a lot of sound equipment above par then sony for even a less price. $1000.00 is a decent price, i was never a fan of eclipse subs but their amps are pretty awesome. You can get a lot more out of $1000 then a set of subs with a good amp. You can get a whole new audio system with that amount of money. I got a Pioneer Deck, Cadence 6.5 components, Kenwood 1100w monoblock, and a profile 600w 2ch for components, 2 mtx 12's in a sealed box. All my stuff cost around or under $1000 and it sounds absalutely perfect. Look around on ebay, you'll find some great deals.
