somebody is selling a set of 16x6 acura cl wheels with 205/50/16 tires. Will it be better handling than the stock GT wheels with 195/60/15? I don't need the bigger wheel image but would really like an improved cornering.

yes. slightly better. though 50 is kind of undersized for our wheels me thinks

the 50 series will give you a stiffer sidewall which will slightly improve handling with a wider tire

^^ agrees with above, but still thinks that its a bit undersized

That's our normal +1 fitment. It'll be better in terms of handling and you'll sacrifice very little ride quality.

The offset on the CL and 4 lug Accord rims is around 38 mm and ours OEM is 46 mm for both 5.5" and 6" wide rims. They may rub the fender lip.

^^ Yeah, especially if you have a hatch you might have rear rubbing issues. I have the Sonata's which has the 46mm offset and a 205/55. Combo is MUCH improved over stock and IMO is the best compromise from my 17's to 15's of ride/handling.

I guess I'll have to pass the deal. Thanks guys for the info.

just to verify what they are saying... my rims are off a prelude and the offset is in that 35-38 range and i have a slight rub on my rears with my car... 03 gt hatch...and they stick out past the fender in the front a little bit.
They really make the car handle better and feel a lot more stable though... and the wide stance looks cool....

btw does anyone hawe pictures of elantra XD first gen with 16" rims?
I'm thinking of buying 205/50 16 or 215/40(or 45) 17 but speaking with some people here they told me that bigger rims and tiers(in diameter meaning 15-16-17) slows your car down by much...
other reason of dilema is will 17" rub on serial Elantra hatchback (meaning no coilowers or anything out of serial)?

it won't necessarily slow you down... just depends how much they weigh... the more weight the more it takes for your car to turn them.... these are 16's on my car with stock (serial) suspension....

wow those 16" rims look nice I was afraid that 16" look little on serial suspension on elantra...
You say that it dosent rub?
btw to all how much do rims and tiers in this dimension 215/40 17" cost in USA?
Not exact price but about 1000$ 1500$ thats what I thought...
all 4 rims and tiers cost of it all...

my rears rub a little bit because the offset is wrong for our cars... if you get around a 40 or 42 offset you will have no problems.

ok I'll keep in mind about the offset(offset= ET on rims?)
rear end dosent rub even with a car full of people?

My rims are the perfect size, being OEM Sonata wheels. With 4 people at highwy speeds and large bumps no rubbing. I am also using 205/55/16 tires.
