ok, so i was playing around and figured i would post up a video of my soloX in action. i only had the volume between 1/2 and 3/4 volume than what i have it playing at during competitions. so if you can imagine what it does at say 3/4's imagine what it does at full competition volume. it gets pretty crazy sitting in the car sealed even at 3/4 volume playing a sine wave of 35hz. this hz in my car just makes like an eartthquake is happening. i really need an spl meter (which im getting the epic 160 very soon) so i can test n tune for comps. as before when i was competing, i was playing the wrong hz (from what i can gather), ive been playing around with different frequencies and i like 34hz to 43 hz tones. but again w/o a meter i cant verify that those freq's are the loudest. but i will know soon enough. anyway, check out this video. look at the pop bottle in the cup holder and the plastic bag i put in the vent later on. sorry about the video, i found the pause button a minute later.
anyways enjoy and let me know what you think. ill throw up more video when i get it all dialed in.

do not buy from a BS source. these subs go for around 800.00+ (and thats for 1 sub). if you buy from non-authorized retailer, beware of ****ty-refurbed product. also you WILL NEED alot of power to properly run a soloX, as well as a seperate battery dedicated to only the sub amp. i have a class 31d yellow top rated at 1125ca and a 3000 watt RMS sub amp. the 18" soloX can handle up to 10,000 watts (yes, 10,000 watts, not a typo). the soloX 10" and 12" can do up to 5000 watts peak and need a minimum of 2500 watts rms to play properly. look at my audio system components..all the wiring, amps, speakers and you may think twice about buying a soloX. it will cost you more money that a turbo/sc set-up.

total price to hit a 140+spl------ $4995.00
so be prepared to spend some loot :D
i despretally need a higher amp alt. somewhere around 140+ apms should be good enough. but i will not pay 699.00 for one to be built. so i am still searching (even tho its been 3 years looking). dont be discouraged about how much ive spent on my audio. you can get things alot cheaper by utilizing different sources (ebay, buying used, ect). if you want to be loud, do so. and if you do, id better see you at some bass comps :D
05xd, i was reading in the comp forums i post on, they copy/pasted some info about dbl levels. 140 db is compared to standing 100' (maby it was 10', i forgot) away from a fighter jet taking off.
and after about 15 seconds of being in the car at that volume makes me queezy. if you can tollerate it, your vison blurs because your eyes are vibrating from the bass and you cant really see clearly like normal. i also have the car fully dynamatted so you dont really hear anything outside the car when im playing music. but i have some sound proof material coming off in the hatch lid, thats why its rattleing there. ill have to fix that this summer.
if anyone is going to the HITH meet, ill be there and charging admission to sit in a club on wheels. j/k about charging admission. you can sit in it all you want (well as long as you can stand to sit in it anyway). i should also have my dbm2 or epic160 mic system by then too.
I think it is 10' away from a jet is the equilivent(sp) of your db readings.Thats crazy.Have you ever got a violation for your radio being too loud? The pigs around here will get you for a stock system if they can hera it outside the car :(
Yea I had a friend hit 139 db with 2 12" kickers and 2 15" kickers in a homemade box that took up the entire rear of his 94 blazer and I thought I was goin to pass out right there. You cant talk, breathe,or see whn you hit them levels inside the cabin. It was awesome though.

never gotten pulled over yet. i really dont play it loud stopped at lights and such. only when moving, but when i see a cop i turn it down. i should be able to do a 145+to a 150spl on a term-lab mic system. i just need to re-tune everything (which is real easy for me now). i may also build a new box. been chatting w/some of the guys on the sound comp forums (termpro) and they suggested i build a 4.0c^' box with a 24" vent/port. just have to buy another 8' sheet of 3/4" mdf wood and start building. its all about port volume/length/size and sub/port firing placement. and this is only a daily driver build, not a spl only box. spl only boxes will hit alot harder but you cant listen to it normally (its soooo sloppy).
Where is the best place to find box specs for speakers? I just came across a 10" Kicker Comp VR and right now it is in a wedge truck box.It don't sound too horrible considering the box and the amp is under powered.I know I can get some decent sound out her, just need to find where.

for box specs, contact someone in cust svc for the sub maker. i talked to a kicker rep for a few hours, gave him the dimensiuons i had avaialable in my trunk and we came up with the box i have now.
here is a link to some dbl comparisons.

yeah, that was before i knew anything was available for the elantras and before i had a computer to look for things. i paid 350.00 for that to be made (ouch). anyways, i read somewhere in a playboy magazine about a certain frequency (35hz if i remember correctly, ill have to double check monday), that if played loud enough for a girl in the car it will "excite" her :D. hmmm, i might have to test this theory out. not sure if she has to sit on the sub box or just sitting in the seats or what, but i really want to test this out. maby test this out at the HITH meet. put up a sign that reads "free bass orgasms...for females only) :D :D

^^^
never **** my pants, but my stomach has gotten queezy a couple times sitting inside at high volumes. now i just let who ever want to listen to it really loud, sit inside by themselves and ill turn it up by remote outside. they reallly dont last too long sitting inside the car all sealed up. lol and i tell them it WILL get really loud and could f' you up kinda. and they still think they can handle it. there is a song by chamillionaire (dont remember the name now, but its from his new cd (track 13/14/15) i forgot which one). well that dayum song POUNDS!!!!!! omg does that song pound.
