I had my left brake light burned out, so I got some LED taillights. They look pretty nice. I thought we had 2 bulbs, one for brakes, one for normal night lighting... didn't realize it was one bulb. :)
Anyway, got 'em installed, I don't have anyone with me to tap the brakes for pics, so if you want pics, you'll have to wait.
I read a post earlier that the bass from the sub could cause the taillights to go out, so maybe that's what happened to mine. Shouldn't be a problem with the LEDs though.

The problem I had with LED bulbs on my last car was that they didn't light up the entire tail light.... They just looked like 2 red circles in the middle of the tail light housing - didn't look all that hot at night. Does it do the same thing in the Elantra?

I have the matrix LED tail lights in both the turns and the brake/tail lights. In the daytime, it will show up as a small red area, but when it is dusk or cloudy, it will light up the whole area.

Yeah... I tested 'em earlier in the day, and you could see exactly where the LEDs were... at dusk when I left while ago.... they lit up pretty good, now that it's dark... they light up bright. I like 'em.

Do you get hyper blinking with the LED turn signals?
Also I had LED bulbs in my brake lights and for some reason the spoiler light stayed on when I installed them, so I took them out.

I'll go check... I was going to go do some wiring on the safc2 anyway... to bypass the map clamp for now, so I'll see.

I put 2 resistors on the brake light circuit and 2 on the turn light circuit. That solved the problem. I have a trailer light hookup and the diodes in that leak a tad. The resistors stopped that.
The LED's I have are a narrow view bulb. They are brighter and do show up better in the bright sunlight.

no fast blinking or anything. I got the 1157 led lights at autozone, says they can replace the ones for the elantra.

I figured resistors would solve the problem, im just to lazy to get them and the LED bulbs.

Mine look about like that. The leds that I have have 6 leds on the side and 18 on the end. I tried the light tower, where most of the led's are on the side and it was dimmer than what I have now.

when i tried this the led tail lights were actually a lot dimmer than a regular bulb. is this the case or no?

don't seem to be a 'lot' dimmer, maybe a tiny bit, but not really noticable to me.
