Anyone here have a GLS with big subs put their seats down? My bass is more powerful by at least 30% honestly, i dont know why but ive had other cars and this wasnt the same thing. Obviously i can't always have my back seats down so i want to vent my bass as much as possible. I have a badass set of cadence 6.5 components in the front that are amp powered, and 2 mtx subs running at 1100w total rms in a sealed box so the bass is real punchy and strong. If anyone here could let me know if theres a huge difference between pushing down the back seats, or just removing the rear 6x9's and letting the bass blow through the holes let me know.

If not, anyone got any ideas on how to cut a big whole in the rear deck?

I agree that the sound level is increased due to lack of resistance provided by the rear seats. I have a single 12" Memphis SHP @ 1100w from a Memphis amp. It hammers.

in my sedan, never put the seats down, the subs bumped enough! but if you want... you could cut vents in the seat backs themselves and just have a bit of cushion and cloth there so others can sit back there.

maybe like 4 or 5 medium soda cup tops in size should do the trick.

my boy had a dodge and some r types and he cruised with the seats down alot, but then he just busted out a heavy duty jig and cut out some ports right into the rear deck area. Once the rear deck cloth is back down you cant even see the holes, i belive he just cut decent size circular holes out next to the rear speakers on either side, the difference wasnt quite as huge as flippin the seats down, but it was enough to keep him happy, and hes almost as picky as i am so thats sayin something heh
