New Female Here....

I just wanted to introduce myself and say Hello before I started my searching of old threads for answers - whohooooo, thank gawd I found this site after 2 non stop days of google search! Ok so, I am a 24 year old female who just purchased a 06 elantra. The last car I had was pretty much completly customized when I bought it, so..........this is my first time, and I don't know to much about cars in the first place - nice combo LoL. However what I do know is that I will be driving my new little elantra for the next five years, and the standard hubcaps and grille have to go. So, I will be starting with the basic mods (females love eye-candy), and then later on down the road the bigger stuff, (as I learn). The only issue I have had thus far is that their does not seem to be much for 06 elantra's, many of the websites are only to 05's, hmmmm. Well, on to my searching!

04-06 elantras are the same so you can use everything they use! welcome to the site. only advice i have to give is search before posting something if you think its been covered. some people don't like it getting cluttered with reposts. hell feel free to pm me if you have a question and think its been covered.

As was stated, the 04-06 Elantra is the same. There are also parts from the 01-03 Elantra that fit, and parts from the 03+ Tiburon that fit. Acutally, come to think about it - people have put stuff from just about every different Hyundai into the Elantra in some way or another. Search/ask and you shall find everything you need.

welcome!! first reccomended mod would have to be the 03 tibby sway bar...that is the best mod that i have done to mine yet, the whole car feels more stable now

You guys get so confused with the CVVT.. There are some 03's (like mine) that have the CVVT, so its not only the 04-06 that have it.

Another vote for the Tibby (http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14957) sway (http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13022) bar (http://www.dfwhyundais.com/diy/DIY-SwayBar.html). The best first performance mod you can do. If you do it while the car is brand new, it's a lot easier too!

I was told when I bought the car NEW with 20 miles on it in May of 2004 that the car was sent here from a dealer in California, and I think in California they started puttin CVVT in the 03 and up elantras.

haha... very true, my first mod was taking an APC intake for a 92-94 honda civic and cutting the piping so it would fit behinde my battery... of course this was way before people started selling them on ebay, and performance sites and stuff.

ohh and everyone look how i turned my radiator hose away from the heatshield, my car runs noticably cooler, and it seems that i'm getting better gas millage, but that could just be a fluke
