Ok, So I really have done my fair share of searching, but I have not come up with the answer to one of my need to do asap questions. The H logo on the grill, someone told me that it can be taken off via the screws on the back. I could be wrong but it looks to me as if it is actually molded onto the middle bracket in the grill. I have a 06 gls.....Any help here? And also, I havent seem many pic's of people who took the H logo of the trunk, any suggestions of what to put there in place of the H logo? Thanks in advance for any help.

its not screwed it, its glued in on the back of it, and the tabs that you see are just there for alignment for when they first put it on. same thing with the trunk one.

Hey Nicole...i 2 have an 06 gls...i tried to see if there were screws behind the emblem...i couldnt get to it without removing the top plast piece above the grill...so i didnt bother...are u looking to get rid of the whole piece for replacing the emblem with something else or what??

I dont care if the H is destroyed, I just dont want to ruin the black slats in the grill, because I am not sure exactly what I want to do yet, I am thinking that I will take the black matte finish off with paint stripper, and leave the slats chrome at least for now until I find someone who can make me a custom. SO anyway, I just want the H logo off without hurting any other part of the grill.

You will def have to take the grille out to get to the speed washers.I took some side cutters and cut the washers.Take your time and you will be ok

It's quite simple, really. The link is pretty good, but in the first picture, he missed two of the plastic screw fasteners (they're on the vertical surface, just below and outoboard of the hood bumpers).

This picture shows all the fastener locations:

This shows one of the five grill screws being removed:

And this pic shows the locations of all the screws:

Nicholemy '04 had speed nuts/washers holding the crazy H on but behind that is an oval of flat plastic with 2 holes in it ...not just a slat.

I knew that soemthing was up by looking at it Frank, that makes sense to me.....it did not look like the entire logo came off and left a nice straight slat, errrrrrrrr so the only way to get rid of it is to modify that slat correct? Take off or whatever?

NicholeYou might take a look at my grill in the Gallery http://www.elantraxd.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=34&cat=500&ppuser=2547&sl=f it ain't perfect by any means but I used a dremel to cut out the black oval and then used fibre glass to bridge the gap across the slat (you can put some duct tape across the inside of the slat to help support the glass as it dries) .. like I say... mine is not perfect... perhaps if I had not rushed it but rather taken my time

Edit: as for your Trunk question, I have the hatchback but I assume it is similar.. again held on with speed nuts/washers so you will have a blank oval with two holes in it... I found a nice oval graphic at Canadian Tire that I believe says "Peace" in Korean (probably says, "look what this crazy Westerner bought" for all I know!)
