I just ordered one at my local dealer, I also asked if they had aftermarket harness kits, and he told me no that the 00271-84004 has one in it. I told him I did not think so because I did not read anywhere on the Elantra forums anyone mention that deck kit 00271-84004 came with a harness. He just told me again that it did.

So, could someone please tell me if he is right or wrong? Does deck kit 00271-84004 come with a wiring harness?

If not, I know I get one from the usual places. But who has one that would require zero splicing or soldering to a Kenwood deck. The crutchfield one looks like you still have to solder or connect the deck cables to their harness wire by wire and then plug it into the factory harness. I would love just plug and play.

Thanks as always.

no, it doesnt... it just comes with mounting slots for the HU and into the car itself... the only wiring harness that i know of that comes from the dealer is the one that you have to get if you get the kenwood HU which is like 400 for the black and a bit less for the silver.

you can go to circuit city and get teh wiring harness for like $20 or something and not have to worry about splicing from my understanding...

Thanks Vampyrate, that is what I thought. Not very reassuring when you have to argue with the Hyundai Parts dealer about what you are actually getting.

I will check Circuit City tomorrow, I will be there anyways getting the new TOOL album...$9.99 tomorrow release day at Circuit City.

How is it? I have all there other ones too. What I have heard I like, just can't wait to get the new head unit in so a can burn them all to one disk or USB thumb drive. I am getting the Kenwood Excelon X590. It is black and black chrome with USB input and should look good in the dash kit. Wire harness is the last part now to musical Hyundai Nirvana.

i have 18.5 days worth of music bro, i have most cds at least 2wks before they are released... how to you think that i can write reviews the day of or before the cd comes out?

i have the full discographies of most bands too (dream theater, metallica, tool, nofx... the list goes on)

Dude, that is awesome. I thought I had a lot at 13 GB.

Dream Theater, that is band I have not heard in a long time. I have two of their CD's and have not even ripped them yet. I am digging them up tomorrow and doing that. In an earlier post you mentioned you had two punch 10's. How do they keep up with the double bass of bands like Dream Theater?

when my subs were in my sedan, it was insane! nothing like cruising to chimaria and in flames hearing that bass hit! but i must admit techno and some underground rap push them to the limits...

as far as 10,000 days, that cd is amazing!
