Hello,

Well, after much debate and looking around the car market I opted for an 06 gls 5 door. I traded in the Dakota gas guzzling V8 for much better fuel economy and reliability. Feels nice to actually drive a decent car again. I must say Hyundai is much improved since the excel. Next are the mods, rims, spoilers, etc. What are most of you guys getting as far as highway mileage is concerened?

Thanks,

Jim

34mpg isnt hard to hit on the freeway. just take it easy up to cruising speed and set the cruise. i made a trip columbus oh to pittsburgh pa a few weeks back, did 10-12 dyno pulls and some screwing around town, and with the drive back, i hit 421 miles on 12.799 gallons.

421 miles in 12.7 gallons! It would take about 26 gallons in the old Dak to get that far. I can hit 75mpg in my little ninja 250 though!

Darned if I haven't been looking at the same Ninja 250. Not really a bike guy, but was thinking it may be a good call if I had a one-car family and had to commute.

My mileage kicks serious butt. With a man-tran, locking the cruise at 55-60mph gives me 40-45mpg. I think the meter may be as much as 5% off, but still, that's utterly amazing.
