View Full Version : Want to order fog lights

Ok all I have a question I want to order fog lights from Kspec but of course they dont come with wiring or anything. So can anyone tell me what I will actually need to buy in order to get these fogs going. Thanks.

Or you can do it an even easier way.

Just wire it directly into the sidemarkers. It's the easy way out, but not as professional.

All you need for that is some wire and a couple of connectors (search for info or simply take the lights into the store and see which ones work).

Good luck getting in contact with kdmguy, he hasnt logged in XD since the 20th. IMO K-Spec is the company you should order them from, iv never once had a problem with them.

I think thats the best way to do it if you dont wanna run wire through the fire wall and to a switch.

is that just for the gls? or for the GT? dont the ones for the GT just wire up to the stock wiring?

It's a GLS. And yes, if you needed some for a GT (which should already have them) they would just wire right up.

Yes if they are wired the way the stock GT ones are.. Mine WERE like that but Aaron wired mine to go on OR off with the parking lights.

They are on ebay, from a Canadian seller, that offers the XD2 fog light kit for $88. It includes the lights, multi function switch, relay and some wiring kit. The US GLS does not have the wires installed any where on the car and requires a lot of work and parts from a juck yard.

I got cheap ebay fogs and salvaged parts from my 03 GT and installed them in my 05 GLS. I have everything working as stock except having the dash indicator light go on. I have to tweak it a bit, but the dash indicator works as I had go on when I was searching for the right connector.

if you just wire them to the side marker lights then you never have to worry about the switches or anything and if the cops say anyhting just say the car came that way.

^ cops really wouldn't stop you for your foglight wiring... even if you had them on with the high beams. and if one stops you when you jsut have the fogs on with your normal low beam lights on, something is definitely wrong with the cop or you just pissed him of A LOT, and i mean like he'll-give-you-a-ticket-for-breathing-loud pissed off.

i've been wanting to get a pair for my gls too. as soon as i'm done with my current project. :D

I got the OEM fogs from K-spec and they came in about 8 days. Then i bought the Multifunction switch from ilan and that was here in about 5 days. Then I followed the DIY for the OEM Foglights. Didnt take me more than an hour. The hardest part was getting wires through the firewall. :)

I'd be nervous as hell about wiring to the sidemarkers, at least not without a fuse.
Don't the fogs light require 30Amps?

I know alot of people who have done it, as long as you do it right and use a fuse then you are good to go. :)
