Hey,

i got my elantra lowerd and 17"
i asked for 205/40/17 they put on 215/45/17.
now it rubs when i got ppl in the back.
they are offering to relace the springs for free, so it will be abit higher. will this make a difference to the rubbing? or should i insist on getting new tires at 205/40 at the current height?

moving it to the right board.

Thx guys

dude, i would tell them to put the proper size (which you requested in the first place) on your car. and w/bigger springs you still may rub. even with stiffer springs you may still rub unless you adjust the rear camber to a more negative setting. but doing this will wear your tires uneven unless you have tires that can use more neg camber w/o uneven wear. nitto neo gens are designed for more neg camber. i have -1.82* neg camber front L/R and -1.42* neg camber rear L/R.

yea replace them with stock and make you look crazy... plus two sets of different springs isnt a good idea

Hey,
i asked for 205/40/17 they put on 215/45/17.
Thx guys

Stock tire circumference is 76.1 inches.
205/40/17s are undersized at 73.7 inches.
215/45/17s are oversized at 77.3 inches.
If you can get 205/45/17s they are almost a perfect match to stock circumference. Just make sure you have the offset correct.

Either way...it's gonna rub.

I have the Eibach Pro Kit springs...which is a mild drop and I get some rubbing even.

Peace,

how many times do we have to stress this point. if it rubs you NEED to adjust the rear camber to more negative settings. doing this = NO MORE RUB!!!! unless your useing the wrong tire/wheel sizes then your SOL. i have coilovers on my car. i have probably the sickest drop out of anyone with out useing airbag suspension. and haveing a stiff *** suspension also helps with the rubbing issues.
also like said above, changeing different springs front to rear will dramatically reduce performance of the car. it may even be unsafe. get it done the right way and you wont have any probs. they messed up, not you. so they should fix the problem.

Yea, good news guys.
I took my car back to them today and they put on 205/40/17 and new stiffer springs on it for FREE. so to keep them sorta happy i got new brake pads, they were getting old anyway. no more rubbing. but will test it this weekend with a few mates in the back. thx for ur help
