Xenon HID its fine but if its possible i dont want to MOD my car, but if u say that its the best.... tell me what models can i get and the best NON-xenon bulbs that be better than oem bulbs...

ive tried many bulbs for my sonata(takes H7) everything was ok, nothing spectacular. i suggest the halo Hids kit from unseek. i put them in a couple weeks ago and its a HUGE difference. living in vegas there are some roads with no street lights, the hids are bright and reflex everything. PERFECT!

H7 is regular lights, h1 is bright lights or called high beams.

Simple term is just low beam and high beam. There are some cars that use H7 for low beam and/or high beam and some cars that use H1 for low beam and/or high beam. H1 is not any brighter than an H7. It's just aimed higher to illuminate higher up where the low beams don't cover and highs barely put any light on the ground when aimed properly. Lows only put light straight aheadh and on the ground and should not be aimed higher than a another cars doors or trunks.

From personal experience, Silverstars are not worth the $40-50 you spend on them. The Cool Blues are just as bright and cost less than half the price. They are just barely less white than the Silverstars, but for less than $20 per pair (at Walmart), who cares? Real HID is gonna piss all over Silverstars and make them look yellow any day anyway!

And if you do decided to get HID, you might as well keep your stock halogens if you get anything above 6000K because the usable lumens on those high kelvin (K) kits are the same as halogen.

I love my silver stars, a big improvement over stock. I'm not into the blue lights, either do the cops around here.

I also don't think the Silverstars are worth the money. I can't say the same about the European Silverstar because I've never tried those, but supposedly they are brighter and they don't have the color tinting on the bulbs like the American Silverstars.

I don't think the Cool Blue's are worth it either because most people buy it thinking it will look blue, but it's just a lighter yellow than stock.

If you really need to improve your nighttime driving, I would suggest installing either HID's or some fog/driving lamps.

I was told if your car does not come with HID lights you will fail your inspection.I live in NY so maby things are different in other states.

In my experience, with the cool blues, the silverstars and another brand from Circuit City the original H7's are the best and cheapest.

I drive out in the middle of BFE, no lights around. I have my factory fogs wired to stay on with the brights, plus I upgraded the bulbs to 37.5w each so at night I have all 4 headlights and both foglights. More than enough light to see deer in the road a mile away!

theres NO WAY the stock headlights are better that silver star bulbs. Theres a clear difference between them. I have the cool blue in my blazer and there brighter than stock but not as bright as the silver stars.
DJ Hell fire you must of got a set of **** bulbs because silver stars are well worth the money.

I agree with BobMs, the original H7's are the best bang for your buck.

The Silverstars are slightly brighter than the OEM, but the bulbs are so similar that most people would not notice the difference in light output. All 3 bulbs, OEM, Cool Blues, and Silverstar, are made by Sylvania.

If you put the OEM bulb next to the silverstar the look almost the same. I think the silver star is a little darker blue but not by much!

I changed my low beams and fog lights to Silverstar lamps, and I think there is a significant difference in the quality of light produced.

For those that have not seen good results, I'd be curious if the plastic headlight lenses were slightly clouded, as I did not see a big difference until I used the 3M lens cleaner that I explained in another post on my headlights and foglights. I saw a big improvement after that.

I think the Silverstars are worth the money if you don't want to mod the car to have HIDs.

If you can get the Silverstars for between $20-$30 a pair, then it's a decent deal and it might be worth it for those not wanting to upgrade to HID's. But it's rare to find it that cheap, which to me makes the Silverstars not really worth it.

I have used these for the last 2 years and have had no problems with them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/5800K-XD5-H7-Xenon-Krypton-Quartz-Whitest-Bulbs-55W_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33710QQitemZ8062468 921QQrdZ1

Mine still look new. As a matter of fact I put the first set of "blues" in at about 4k miles, the car was 2 months old.

Common Sense explains why most don't see a difference. When you tint any glass, you begin to restrict light. That's why we tint our windows. What happens to that bulb when you tint the glass ? You lose light. If you are still running the stock 55w with a blue tint you WILL lose light production. You can combat it with a higher wattage bulb, but the the heat begins to affect wiring and bulb life.

So, best bang for the buck is the standard clear bulbs. Plus, they are covered under warranty for 5years or 60,000 miles.

"Bulbs", yes. H/L Bulbs are 5/60. Not fogs. Not brake lights, just H/L. Used to do 5-10 a day under warranty.

:conf: I thought we've been through this like 400 times already?

I passed NJ state inspection with both my cars, Elantra and my Altima. Both have projector retros with 4300K bulbs though which is the legal color for OEM HID. They didn't even question me on them.

Silverstars better than stock? Yes. But worth the $50? Hell no! The point I was making was that yes Silverstars are noticeably an improvement over the stock bulbs, but so are the Cool Blues. And for half the price of Silverstars, I'll would stick with the Cools since there is barely any noticeable difference between the two as far as brightness. The only real obvious difference between the two is that the Silverstars are a bit less yellow than the Cool Blues, but not noticeably brighter. And I have tried Silverstars in 3 different cars that I have owned over the past 4 years.

ok... the result its that original bulbs are ok. silverstar only bit better..mMMmm ok but 2 questions....

FOg Lighst? i have fog lights and itsnt a big diference turn it ON and Offf only if its very dark or if its raining at night, my OEM fog lights only are seen 2 or 3 mtrs from the front of the car....

and HID kits, what recommend you? and what about duration? it they craseh i think that will be difficult to get FAST a new ones... and sure EXPENSIVE???that its true?

DeepWaterBlue

SilverStars all the way. I use them as daytime running lights too......and must change them 2 to 3 times per year. Worth every penny for me though......I've been asked a few times if they were HID. Whitest white I have ever used.

BlackElantraGT

If someone mistakes SilverStars for HID, they don't know DIDLY SQUAT about HIDs.

So basically you think paying (at the minimum) $40 per set 2-3 times a year is worth it? That comes out to about $80-120. That's almost half the cost of a cheap HID kit.

chouonrow, if you have a GT, you might want to consider upgrading to the KDM projector fogs. They're a big improvement over the stock GT fogs. I think they're well worth the $130. On the GT fogs, the light just seems to be scattered everywhere, but with the projector fogs, you will notice that your field of vision at night will be a lot wider.

ok... KDM proyector fogs... tell me about it.. its the first time that i noticed it...

and what aboy Xenon Kits? its a hard DIY??
