Well, Did it, bought the brand new Entourage SE, black with tan interior simply great. will have pix by the week end. List 27,500, out the door 24,100 plus tt+l. A full Hyundai family now.

Wallyworld here we come!!!!!

It was either this or a 2004 Odyssey or Sienna with nowhere near the options/features with 20K miles for the same price. ( I would not buy a Chrysler or Dodge, Ford or GM)

It was just put up there on the 7th, don't feel too bad. Usually Hyundai is slower than that.

I was thinking about some low profile tires on those 17s and a 2-3" drop but the wife would kill me....... maybe not lets break it in first it only has 23 miles on it, and then we will see. (I am seriously considering the low profile rubber)Overall I am quite impressed with it. It will be on its first cross country drive in three weeks to Destin FLA so if anyone sees it wave, It will be the black one with the big guy driving, I will be passing by the Hyundai home base in Alabama maybe I will stop in.

I got this at the end of February, and just got around to washing it a couple weeks ago, lol. For the same reasons as golfino, it was either this, or a similarly equipped 2004 Odyssey with 40K miles. No thanks, I'll take it new with a 100K warranty! :D

I wish I could have waited around for the Entourage, but my wife's younger brother wanted to buy our Prizm a lot faster than expected. It also helped that the KIA dealership internet sales manager was an old friend of mine - 4% under invoice (it was only a few hundred off the invoice that at the time, only one or two websites listed). So far, very happy. The wood grain in the middle I cannot stand (I have gray int.), so I am going to get ahold of a metallic set from an Entourage to replace it.

That is an AWESOME movie, hilarious...:D

Congrats on the new car, don't know too much about the Entourage, but I hope it has good fuel economy for such a large car.

I'm testing my car out today, I really want to join the 400 mile club. ;)

Heck, I've been a bit of a minivan person at times, even in college. Guess I'm just sociable. I once joked that I wanted an Expedition until I realized my social life didn't warrant one.

Well, I have an update on the Sedona. My wife and I took our first vacation with our 10 month old daughter from Knoxville over the mountains into Asheville. Filled up the van before we left (made sure ESC was disabled), and was very tempted to fill up when we got there and check the actual mileage. I however resisted, and decided to drive back home for an average.

The trip consisted of the trip from Knoxville to Asheville (lots of elevation changes), some driving around Asheville for a couple of days, the trip home, and a trip from Knoxville to Oak Ridge (about 20 minutes away) before returning and filling up.

For the most part, the trip computer read about 24.5 MPG, but by the time we got into Asheville, it read 26.1. There was a lot of coasting coming in before we got there, and I did really take it easy (trying not to go over 65). The RPM's were in the 1700-1800 RPM range most of the time. The 24-25 MPG the trip computer was showing was about what I was hoping for (rated at 25 hwy). The van is rated for 25 MPG, and to get that with only 2K miles on the vehicle, I was really pleased. Driving around Asheville, it dropped to about 23.5, and I just knew that the trip home would kill it.

Once again, I took it pretty gingerly, not exceeding 65 except a couple of times creeping up to 70. By the time we got back home, I was suprised to see the trip computer showed 25.1 MPG. Overall, I was quite happy with that, but it has been off before, both high and low. I was in a hurry to get to our movie in Oak Ridge that I did not have time to fill up, so we saw cheap gas on the way back and finally filled up.

Disclaimer: I am quite skeptical about the results and will continue to log data.

Something seems to be wrong with the fuel gauge / trip computer since we got the van. When the computer says only like 75 miles until empty and the gauge is almost empty, I have not put more than 15 gallons in it - still 6 gallons from empty! This will be one of the few things on my list to check with when I get my first free oil change done (squeeky brakes, & stubborn smaller rear seat that doesn't quite fold all the way flat are the others). This is my first vehicle with a trip computer, but I still calculate the old fashioned way to see how accurate it is. My gauge was showing just a tad over a quarter of a tank, so I was thinking roughly 5 to 6 gallons left, but it only took 10.913 to fill up, so it was essencially only half a tank. The trip read 313.0 miles on the odometer trip, and not meaning to sound cliche, but you do the math. 28.7 #&$^% MPG!

Call BS if you want (I know we are all skeptics to some degree including myself), but that was the #'s. With my science background, I could chalk this one up as an outlier, but until I can do another long trip (may be a while), I cannot comment further. My longterm goal was to see maybe 27 MPG hwy after several thousand miles of break in (like most Hyundai engines), a K&N drop in, and switch to full synthetic oil. This was the first trip too where I was not necessarily in a hurry. I drive quite conservative, usually only about 73 in our 70 zones, but new laws dropped it back to 65 (due to pollution and economy). I was also wanting to get the best economy because of fuel cost (usually around 60-65 about 80% of the time). Will continue to update. The van was a pleasure to drive on the trip, plenty of power with lots to spare. Darn, a new dilema, time or fuel effiency. :D

Thanks for the update. I've seen quite a few new Sedona's around my way and I saw an Entourage for the first time last night. I started yelling about it and my girlfriend told me I had problems. Can't wait to see them everywhere.

SO far the average on the computer for the Entourage has been steadily climbing we only have 1400 miles on it. At this time it reads 18.4. I did a few calculations the old fashioned way and I am coming up with about 20MPG. We are leaving for FLorida this Friday so I will report on mileage when we get back, about June 20. So far no problems with it.

You'd be surprised how much speed affects frag which affects fuel economy. I've read that at highway speeds, fluidic drag is half of the total resistance force (the other half being rolling friction which is constant no matter how fast you go.) Fluidic drag is proportional to the square of the velocities, so the difference in drag between 60 and 70mph is 70^2 / 60^2 = 1.36, so that's 36%. So if that is only half the resistance force, you'll see a 1/6th change in fuel economy between those speeds. 1/6th is about the difference between 24 and 28 miles per gallon.
