Yes, yes. I am in the same situation. My wife almost cancelled our engagement when I told her that I got my bike licence! She has since mellowed and has said that I might be able to get a bike when she graduates from teachers college!!!

Just remember when riding to gear up. I just bought my first street bike - '06 Harley V-Rod Night Rod, and one of the conditions with the wife was that I would wear my gear. To tell you the truth if you get the right stuff it really isn't an inconvience after all. Just remember that there are 2 types of bikes, those that have been down and those that are going down. Just prepare for the latter and hope it never happens, but if it does make sure you do everything you can to walk away from it.
Nice looking blazer, you should drop it a few inches.

Yes, gear up indeed. I've never been on a bike without wearing all the bike stuff. I had my licence in australia and borrowed a co-workers bike a bunch of times. I had all my own riding gear, and never left the house without it on, no matter what the temperature. My father in law will ride in shorts and a t-shirt, he lets his girls ride in shorts or whatever they want, like strappy sandles or whatever...it's retarted. I wouldn't even think about touching a bike without all the proper equipment and gear!
