Number 1 Reason why Street Racing is stupid.

i was on an evening cruise to relax and this retard in a neon with an srt conversion tried to race me... not good with a slipping clutch

luckily my clutch didnt slip this time, so i think it has to do with glazing of the clutch and flywheel, so i may have a bit more time if i get my flywheel machined. anyway...

we hit this corner at about 80mph and he loses control and spins out (empty highway) whats funny is that it was raining/snowing and as i immediatley slowed down to the speed limit, he regains control and speeds ahead of me. needless to say, down the road a cop pulls him over. i go to this one car wash where all the ricers hang out and he drives up and shows me the ticket (a $800 fine for racing, reckless, and failure to maintain control of the vehicle). he pops the hood and shows me what he has and i just started laughing. i told him that i had a bad clutch and was lucky that it didnt slip that time. thinking about it, i shoulda raced him for pinks, sold the car back to him for 12k and used the money to pay off my CC and upgrade my car.


thinking back on it, it was a stupid move on my part and it should never ever be allowed. this was one of my few idiotic moments where i didnt think about the abuse i was putting on my car and just thought about beating someone for nothing more than bragging rights. after tonight, i dont condone street racing. and mods, if anyone posts in this please delete and lock this thread, this was just for shear informative reasons.

you wouldve lost big time if he knew how to drive. i raced one at national trails raceway, bone stock, and even though he was running .7 seconds slower than he should have for a stock car, he beat me by 1/2 second over my best time

I think you missed the point of your own thread...last time I had some guy want to race me in the rain, I lurched the car forward on the highway for a sec and he took off looking at me and not what was in front of him and the stupid *** rear ended a semi...got what he deserved for being stupid in the rain...on wet roads...and for street racing. Sorry I don't street race, and don't like it. Let's just say a very good friend of a friend got t-boned going through a newly green light one night and these two cars blew their red. He ended up getting hit so hard his car (lowered on air mind you) got picked up and rolled over on impact and spent the following week in a coma in ICU.

vamp I had something similar like that happen to me before. I wasn't racing but some riced crx pulled up next to me and started reving the engine, and i do the same just to see his face, then i turn to face the light and I lean on the armrest, to show him Im not doing any racing. Anyway he squeels his tires and I hear the thing redline and he looses control a few yards down the road and jumps the curb into a park. I'm like WTF is he doing. I see now why alot of people HATE street racing.

Racing in the rain/snow around bends is so idiotic. You're lucky you didnt wreck another elantra.

forgive me for knowing how to drive on bad roads... i do live in the mtns you know
