I was looking to replace all my stock speakers, and maybe amp them. No subs. I was looking to get some speakers that are easy to install (possibly no making of brackets etc etc).
From what I understand, Its 6.5" for the fronts, and 6x9" for the rears.
All i have now, is Pioneer 3700. Im looking not to spend more than $200 in replacing both sets of speakers.
I was thinking about these for the fronts:

I listen to rap and r&b.

man wtf you can't listen to rap/r&b without subs you need is a 15" sub j/k. I'd look on ebay, thats where I got my stuff from but you need to go to some places to hear the stuff before you buy it. I have infinty kappas in the front(components) and back that i got on ebay for about $200 total <a steal> they are good imo but I have subs so all my bass comes from the trunk. The refrence series are good too I was going to get them before I found the Kappa's on ebay. Very clean mids and highs.
and for an amp and maybe speakers try http://www.millionbuy.com I got a 4 chan amp from them for $90.

I have reference series:
-2 x 6.5" Infinity Reference 6012 si (50RMS)
-2 x 6x9 Infinity Reference 960 3i (100RMS)
They are sweet especially with my 4 channel JBL:
-JBL Grand Touring Series 75.4 II Amplifer (104RMS x 4)
bought my stuff through audio shops ($700) though, imma try to find them on ebay.
EBay:
6012si for 70shipped (http://cgi.ebay.com/INFINITY-REFERENCE-6012si-SHALLOW-MOUNT-6-1-2-SPEAKERS_W0QQitemZ9726418891QQcategoryZ58025QQrdZ1 QQcmdZViewItem)

75.4 AMP $190Shipped (http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-JBL-GTO75-4-4-CH-520W-MULTI-CHANNEL-AMPLIFIER-AMP_W0QQitemZ9725959484QQcategoryZ4950QQrdZ1QQcmdZ ViewItem)
Total: $350 pretty much HALF of what I spent in audio shops... although my 700 did include wiring and install for the 4 channel amp. But still if you install yourself and get some wires at walmart, youre all set.

Those Infinity refrence series sound good amped without subs too. Since you are going for no subs, the bass responce on those should be good for ya!

I got my Cadence components for around 80$ off their site, a Profile amp to power them for 65$ off the profile site.
thatd be 145 for the fronts and theyd be amped, i would neccecarily worry about the back but if you want a decent set of rear 6x9s for the money id go with some pioneer 3-ways. look on ebay and youll find them real cheap.

Dude, I'll tell ya what...
My Polk 6.5 comps up front and 6x9's in the back slam out some tight bass! Of course they are being fired with 50 watts RMS of Rockford Fosgate power, but I was impressed.
See, after I demolished some el' cheapo MTX subs (hey, I bought them off my bud for the equivalent of let's say.....a box of Mac and Cheese!), I started amping just the Polks without subs until I got my new Punch Stage 3 10" DVC 's. Sounded good.
Until.....
The subs arrived.
Man, it's like this.....Cornbread nailed it, you can't listen to Rap/R&B, or ANY music IMO W/O subs. I'll give you a year before your posting "What subs/amp do you dudes recommend??"
good luck!
