I used to have a 250 AII and I maxed it out a lot. It was small.

It is Dual 4 ohm voice coil. I am wiring it parallel to equal a 2 ohm load.

It should rock.

Why yuck on the solo baric? Because it is disgusting?

I had alot of bad luck with kicker subs.I think they BS about how many watts they can really take beacuse ive owned a few different kinds and they never last. Why did you get solo baric, not alot of space?

Yeah it should rock. I've used nothing but Kicker subs in several different sizes and different models from comps to solo barics and they have all kicked tail.

Anybody who says they suck and have nothing but problems with them must be experiencing user error.

Ive owned kicker, mtx jl audio, alpine and Image Dynamics subs and I can make a pretty good judgement of sub quality and kicker is a ok sub.I see you have owned nothing but kicker so how can you make an honest judgement on subs. I always had trouble with mine there is no user error involved.

Well I have used a ton of different subs over the past 20 years so I too can make a a pretty good judgement on subs. I've always had good luck with them so I start there. They always work great so I never need to change them out. Plus they could be had for super cheap when dealing with the build house.

If you ALWAYS have trouble then yes I'd say there is user error. I find it hard to believe that you keep ending up with problems when people like me have never had a problem.

Besides if you kept having troubles then why keep buying them?

I didnt they always replaced them for free since the dealer also could not figure out the problems. Everything was pro installed never messed with anything that could cause a problem, unless turning up the volume is user error. So I went with image dynamics IDQ v2's with the same set up (amps,x-over) never had anymore problems. Now those are SUBS

Funny you mention ID because that's what I have now and yes those are some serious subs.

I never had a problem with any of my Kicker subs but I wouldn't trade my ID's for any Kicker sub.

LOL no ****, yeah those are some kick *** subs.My 12's sounded like my friends 15's kickers. For the everyday guy on a budget I guess kicker is so-so,I'm suprised they dont sell them at wal mart.It bothers me sometimes when people say this subs the best and never heard anything else. But I see you know whats up.

Yeah my ID's hit like a ton of bricks. Have them in my Tib and it rips your chest open.

I had the older Kicker Solobarics (round) in there before and they hit hard as well but not like the ID's, but the ID's cost me about $80 more for the pair but well worth it.

I haven't used any of the newer Kicker's so I should say my experience is with older models so maybe the quality of the newer, flashier (AKA uglier) models has dropped.

Holy off topic batman....

Can you guys help me with some wiring questions? The sub is dual 4 ohm. My amp says it is not stable 2 ohms bridged.

1. Can I run it stereo from each channel to each coil at 4 ohms?

2. Should I just bridge it and run it 2 ohms wired parallel?

3. Should I bridge it and run it series to 8 ohms?

1. Yes you could do this.....but....(see 3)
2. What kind of amp is is? Some amps will run perfectly (maybe a little hotter) below their ratings while others will not.
3....this will give you the same power out of the amp as option #1, but the power will be spread across the coils since the amp is bridged.

It is an older fosgate punch 800. The one with the heat sink fins.

I think I am just going to bridge it and see what happens

I know which ones you are talking about. I run RF amps from the mid 90s and I know you can pound on those. I would try it if I were you since it is a good brand amp. Just watch and make sure it does not get too hot and maybe turn down the gains some.

You know, it may not hurt to series the coils and bridge the amp. You might be satisfied with the sound and your amp will be running well within factory specs.
