Saturday, tomorrow, May 20th I'll be helping my buddy run his newly formed Rally course. It's part of the California Rally Series (CRS for short). It's a points event so most CRS members will be there.
For those in Southern California interested in popping by and spectating feel free! I'll be doing dual duties as passing and hopefully not failing cars through pre-race safety tech. and running staging and starting for the day.
If you're interested in stopping by I'll have my car out there. Don't know where yet, but you can always watch the drivers in stock 2wd cars tear up the course all the way through the full rally prepped WRXs.
My buddy's site is www.socalrallyx.com. The race will be held at Glen Helen Raceway. Racing will start at 10 am and hopefully be done by 5 pm.
Directions are:
From the 15N go to the 215 S and exit Palm and take a left. Cross the RR tracks and through the blinking red light. Veer onto Institution Road, go about 1 mile to a 4 way stop and go right. Don't go left or straigh otherwise you'll end up at the prison out there. Go roughly 1/2 mile further and take a right through the gate in the fence. There should be some signage up also as you come up on the entrance.
If you come up the 215N exit Palm and adjust the directions from there to account for you coming north not south.
I'll be pretty busy since I'll be making sure every car gets staged at the starting line with the alotted 1 minute and giving the drivers a 30, 20, 10, 6,5,4,3,2,1, countdown to start but if you're interested stop by and introduce yourself and spectate. Who knows, perhaps you'll decide to get into it too. It's a ton less expensive than autox on tires at the minimum for sure.
I'll be up and out of the house at 6:15ish to get out there and get **** organized for the days event so I won't see this after I go to bed in a few minutes so just come on out and have fun.
