On my old truck i had the shop remove the old stuff. It was like 5 bucks a window to remove because i had them putting new stuff on. I think i would be tedious if you dont know what your are doing and dont have the right window solvents

It's not that hard, I helped my mom take the tint off her car after she got pulled over. Just get a razor (window scraper style), some windex, and goo-gone. Get a piece started, and pull. It will break, and you'll need to restart and repeat. It's almost exactly like removing city/village registration stickers that you have to put on your windshield.

It shouldn't take that long. One of the Police Lieutenants here at work carries a scraper in his car, when he pulls someone over for tint, he gives them the choice to either scrape it right then and there, or get the ticket.

The main thing to have is undiluted ammonia and razors.

also if you going to remove the back tint where the defroster line are, dont use a razor cause it will cut the defroster line.

If you have to take it off a back window find someone with a steamer. Steam the window and slowly peel the tint off, the glue will come off with the paper and the defroster lines will be fine. You can also use the steamer to take the tint off any window, it makes it fast and clean compared to razor scraping the tint and glue off.

I might try the steam technique on my back window.

I need to take the sides off as well. I got 35% on the sides, 20% in the back and the front strip. I need 20% all around before I go nuts looking at the light tint any longer.

Don't you guys have timt laws where you live? I am forced to do 15% on the back window and two rear doors. I can't put anything on the fron t two doors though or like my other cars I will get pulled over.

in cali we can have a full black out on anything behind the shoulders and depending on the cops mood get away with sometimes 85% to 95% in front but it is against the law to have anything in front of ur shoulders tinted without a doctors note.

I work overnight so the doctor's note isn't a problem, but in MA it's 35 all around. In RI it's no tint allowed but I see people from RI in the dealership near me with 20% and darker so I asked if they'd work with me on that come inspection time.
