Anyone here upgrade the wire from the alternator to the batter and/or upgrade the wire from the battery to the ground? If so was it difficult to do? What materials were used? And who wants to write about it in the DIY section?

sweet.

I run three amps in my car so I had to upgrade. It is not hard at all. I changed the factory battery to a Optima Yellow. I wacked off the factory connections to the battery and upgraded to gold connectors. Since the Optima has top and side mounts, it has two upgraded ground wires-- 4GA with the gold ring connectors. The + side mount runs to the back of the car to the amps.

I did not upgrade from the alt to the battery yet, but I'm going to do this within the next month or two when I reinstall my stereo. If no one else is going to do it sooner, I'll document what I already did and also the addition of the upgraded alt. wire.

Hatda, do u think there is any benefit to upgrade those wires and terminal conections if we have a stock system or just not worth it??

No, I really don't think it is worth anything if you run a stock system. The only way I would consider it is if you added other electrical upgrades outside of a stereo that may be affecting your electrical system. I really don't know what these upgrades might be....maybe something like neon or high intensity lights. And with that said, you could probably just add a bigger/better battery and still be fine with the stock wires and connections.

I'm actually okay w/o upgrading the alt to battery wire right now, but when I redo my stereo I will be putting a greater load on my sub amp which will draw more current (adding a third sub which will drop my amp to 2.66 ohms instead of 4). This may not help me or may not be needed, but it will only be a couple bucks and a couple minutes so I figure why not.
