i was at my toyota dealer looking at cars yesterday and found 2 of these waaaaaaay in the back corner. the front grill is a little different, debadged, the wheels have a satin finish on them, bigger stereo with a sub, no wing, and the color is pretty close to Tidal Wave Blue. If i had my camera i would have taken some A/B shots to compare the paint. i think it had a sticker for 18-19 grand depending on stick or auto. aparently they only made a limited run of 2600 of them and we got two here in buffalo.
the only bad thing that really jumped out at me was that the back breaks were tiny. the fronts weren't much bigger. I don't think it had any engine upgrades, just cosmetics. but it is a pretty car. if you are into that impreza-ish blue color this is for you.

speaking of customs... there are more hyundais that are dealership customized (rims and the such) that are marked as standard upgrades. like 18's on sante fes! there is only one sante fe here with "normal rims" lol

I read on TCC about a week ago about what Scion is calling a tC SPEC package or something like that.
Basically it's a base model with no real upgrades (and even steel wheels) that will sell for less and be directed directly at people that want to make all their aftermarket upgrades themselves and not waste any money on the Scion stuff (or worry about selling it afterwards).
Interesting concept.

Any idea on the cost? Sounds like a great idea IMO.

I think it was $15,something. I can't find the link anymore.
Thats not bad, for a bare stock that you could modify. I might consider that when the XD is up...

Yeah! Tc's with 14-inch rims and hubcaps!
But the freedom to put what you want? I wouldnt complain! I'll just steal my friend's acura hubcaps on his civic steelies! hahahahahaha

Sounds like a good deal. Hope they do implement that option, as I would consider it for future purchases. Or I'd just get that WRX Impreza I've been eyeing ;)
