so the system remote power will not work on my friends pioneer deck, ive tried every wire and cheked everything multiple times. im thinking its just a bad part on the deck, is there any way to wire the system remote to something else in the car other then through the deck or possibly adding a relay/switch through it to power it on?

bummer dude.

well, you could run the HU's power wire direct to a swichable source (like a fuse that turns on with the ignition). However, you will lose your clock and station preset settings when the ignition is turned off.

Or like you said, you could use a relay to turn the HU on and off. Just run a normally open realy in-line with the HU's power wire, running the switch leg to a switchable source.

good luck Kizzo

You could attach the remote turn-on wire from the amp to the accy wire for the headunit (the one that tells the headunit to turn on when the ignition wire is turned on). That will turn the amp on and off with the key. Only downside is the amp would still be on if you turn off the headunit (with car running).

What kind of HU is it? I remember their used to be some HU that you had to go into the options/setup menu of it to turn on the remote-amp wire. Check that out first.

The suggestion above is fine along with your relay idea. Just remember, the remote wire on the head unit to the amp(s) is fused. Make sure you use a fuse on whatever setup you go with.
